While we wait for PJ to come to MN we might as well enjoy the bands coming through here.

Pretty good show at the entry tonight. Plants and Animals with Zoo Animal opening.

Rumors are that Dave Matthews and Tool will be playing the harriet island music festival. Talk about an oil and water line up. :-/ Throw in PJ for a two night stand and the promoters would make a killing.

Such a stupid story in the Star Tribune. The headline reads like its confirmed acts, but then you read it and its only "rumors."

Anyway... neither band is enough to draw me in (in fact, DMB is enough to keep me the hell away  ), but I shouldn't complain too much. Lake Harriet Festival is scheduled for June 23 - 24 and I'll be in Amsterdam then about 2 days from seeing PJ twice. ;)

That possible tool and dmb line up sort of reminds me of the tour in early 1967 where jimi hendrix opened for the monkees

Just got back from there - loved Amsterdam, great town! Would definately be a fun place to see a show.

Not as great as Minnesota, of course! So Pearl Jam should definatley include them this year!

Awesome! We're thinking we'll be in Amsterdam/Holland for 5 days, then to Brussels for a few days, then to Germany for a couple days, and back to Amsterdam before we fly home. Can't wait! Seeing PJ there only makes it that much better!

  • The album seems to be taking a little longer to finish then I'd hoped. I'm thinking we'll see the new record out late summer/early fall and if we're lucky some Oct-Nov US tour dates will follow. It's already a pretty busy year though so I wouldn't be surprised to see them push it into Spring 2013 which would make me a sad panda. That would make it 10 years since Minnesota has had a proper PJ show. So wrong.

Really? I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that we had news about Backspacer (for a September release) by now. Unless we hear something soon, I think its pushing it that we'll see a record out this year.

Either way, I think there's a chance they'l do some US shows this year...its just a matter of where! Additionally, I do think there will be a large US tour within the next year, hopefully including a MN date or two.

Ten years or more since a lot of places have had a proper PJ gig. Not unless you like in Seattle, LA, Chicago, Philly, Boston, New York, Camden or Washington DC do you get a chance to see PJ without a plane ticket in hand...

    Dear Pearl Jam-
If you want a bit of practice before the Euro tour, might I suggest Rock the Garden in Minneapolis. It's a great little outdoor festival that I'm sure you will have some friends at. It's June 16th, so after beer and karaoke at Nye's you could hop a plane to the UK, Delta has many flight options from the Twin Cities :D
    Thanks for your consideration.

Yeah, that's how it goes. The Kenwood neighborhood to the south of the Walker Art Center hill has a 10pm curfew the festival must follow. My Morning Jacket was the headliner last year and played about fourteen songs. Def not worth PJ coming if they'll do setlists as long as the "Petty Jam" shows back in 2006.
