As a relatively jamily member, and new to the bootlegs I wanted your help. If you could recommend the top 10 bootlegs from ANY concert ANY year, what would they be and why?
Thanks

There are plenty of lists available. It is really to-each-their-own when creating such lists.
The following threads were created by Ten Club members which are a great start:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=183871&hilit=soundboard+remaster
Some of my choices: Atlanta '94, Boston '94, Philly 4 and 3 from '09, Melbourne 95 and 98, MSG 1 and 2 from 2010, Toronto 2 from 2011, Hamilton 2011 .....
oh yeah, this compilation/collection is phenomenal : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=184573&hilit=live+on+3+legs

I must chime in and say my all-time favorite bootleg is May 2003 State College, PA. When my brother passed away this triple disc bootleg was in his collection and I hold onto it dearly. He had brilliant taste in Pearl Jam tuneage. And it has my favorite "Rockin' in the Free World" -- major tambourine action.05/19/06 Grand Rapids, MI

I'll give mine...
1995-07-11 Soldier Field, Chicago, IL (my favorite boot ever!)
1995-01-08 Monkeywrench Radio, Seattle, WA (Ive always loved this performance. Will never forget listening to this live on the radio. I was blown away at 16 yrs old.)
2003-07-11 Mansfield, MA (the experiment)
1998-07-02 St. Louis, MO (Maybe the tightest I've ever heard the band)
1996-11-03 Berlin, Germany (one of my first soundboard boots and it is awesome! I love No Code so this setlist also works for me!)
1998-03-05 Melbourne, Australia (Again the band is so tight in 98')
2006-09-19 Torino, Italy (really cool set list. Avocado straight through!)
2006-05-04 Letterman, Ed Sullivan Theater, NY (the video of this on YouTube is great too! Such a cool thing to do.)
2010-05-21 New York, NY (love the rarities played at this one)
2011-11-06 Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (amazing set list!)
That would be my list. Very hard to choose. I found these are the shows I always go back to for certain versions of songs and to listen to straight through.0 -

To narrow it down to merely ten is really hard, but I will just keep it at ten as you wish. I tend to go for the official boots since 2000. Here we go in no particular order.
1. Bristow 2010- Putting bias to the side due to being at the show. I love the setlist, but more objectively the band's performance is pretty tight and energetic. Ed's voice is incredibly strong on this boot. Not to mention All Those Yesterdays!
2. Tokyo 2003- Best version of Release out there.
3. Detroit 2000- One of the most energetic bootlegs I have heard.
4. Buffalo 2010- Another energetic show with a setlist that flows very nicely and has a different vibe to it.
5. Philadelphia 10/30 2009- Hard to beat that setlist, a overall solid performance with a tremendous take on Hold On
6. Vegas 2006- Ed had a cold that night, but the show has a nice relaxed, almost fun vibe.
7. Hartford 2010- Energy was high and the band gives a helluva performance. Lots of Backspacer.
8. Torino 2006- Avocado played in its entirety, enough said.
9. Nashville 2000- I guarantee this will not show up on any list you view for best boots. Nonetheless, another very relaxed show with a vibe like no other. The setlist has a nice organic flow and the encores were quite interesting.
10. Lima 2011- One of the tightest boots performance wise you will hear.
I really enjoy the 2010 bootlegs. Love the fact that Yield was basically played in its entirely throughout the tour. Bristow captures the love for Yield with five songs off the album, and the only time All Those Yesterdays was played in the entire 2010 tour. Not to mention, I feel it is one of Ed's strongest tours vocally, if not the strongest.2008: Bonnaroo
2010: Bristow
2012: Atlanta
2013: Charlottesville, Charlotte
2014: Cincinnati
2016: Greenville, Hampton, Raleigh (cancelled), Columbia, Lexington

I love the complete oversight of the "Boston experiment"
7/2/03, 7/3/03 and 7/11/03.
Three shows you get 82 different songs and 11 covers.. Plus a great accoustic set.
7/2/03 from 5h:
notes: 'Oceans' is gorgeous, taking many by surprise and Ed's voice is strong. Ed states that the band has a plan: "... we've worked up about 70 songs for this tour. We thought we would play three nights without repeating a song and get to every song ... we're actually playing about 105 .""This here's a REQUEST!"
