This is true......
What does a 'yield' sign mean?
This is an extremely poignant question I've also asked myself :?:0 -

neutron baum wrote:Yield, it was love at first sight. When I met you I thought you were absolutely stunning on the outside, with your blue sky and endless road I fell in love with you. Your beauty on the inside is what has kept me deeply in love with you for over 13 years now. I even love your family, SVT has shown me where you came from and made me appreciate you even more. I can't hide it any longer, you've pushed and pulled me over the years, and I have given my love away, but I will always be faithful ......to you. Now lay your head down tonight and make a wish, because there is no leaving here. You have done enough, you cute furry little thing.
Forever yours,
neutron baum

Heard songs from it but did not own this album, this thread convinced me to buy it. Taking the advise of a previous poster and going to listen a few times back to back. Thank goodness I have a job that allows me to put on the headphones, pick a task that doesn't use too much brain power and spend the afternoon listening.0

Yield...I have these memories from Yield and post Yield era. I was in my first or second year in the University in Greece and had the album copied in a cassette (tape). That was year 1998 so it is really weird now even to think about....cassettes?! As originals I had a lot of albums my brother gave to me (or got rid of) who was studying in Manchester at the time, staff like Oasis ( i have far too many of them!), Blur, Travis, even the singles, Pulp, Charlatans, OCS etc. The b@st@rd kept all Pearl Jam's staff for himself (and Radiohead's). He had only given me the Last Kiss single. So I had only managed to buy a couple of PJ singles and just had Yield on cassette. And it was of course a bit uncommon to go to a provincial town music store and ask for the latest pj albums. So, my studies lasted 5 years and I had that tape played almost everyday in my player. As I didn't have the album, I couldn't understand most of the lyrics and even if I did, I wouldn't believe it, for example: "I wish I was a neutron bomb, for once I would go off", how magnificent can that be?...Anyway, as I had dialup internet at home only at around 2001-2 I think, I had to go to the computer room and search for those lyrics and I wrote them down in my notebook (no prints for no school work :( ). I still have them, with my handwriting! So yes, I was listening to it all those 5 years of my life, and as many people have done in their youth, I was singing with my mop, and sung my lungs out in Given to Fly. Moreover, you can correctly assume that I had missed the release of Binaural
I was so stuck to that tape! I recently threw away a lot of things from my drawers but this tape will be my living memory, even if it is practically not feasible to listen to it anymore.
Now, just to end the story, in year 2002-03 it was my turn to move to England, for studies, and guess what: Riot Act became my everyday listening...and an album I owned myself.
Funny years...Now I have all albums in my bookshelf,dvds,...When i hit thread topics like: favourite album, worst album etc, I have this story of Yield in my mind, it is a lifetime story, considering that University life is the most intense part of one's life... And when people say they don't like Riot Act, oh, I just think about all those endless cloudy and rainy days in my room, listening to it...Such a sweet companion!
p.s. a detail to my post is that in Greece the prices of the cds have always been ridiculously high...they still are.0 -
Yield is the realization of a musical utopia!!! It's a mixture of emotions!!! certainly my favorite album (after TEN)!!!_E_l_t_o_n_w_i_s_e_0
