Manchester 2012 expectations?

Like many of you here I'm looking forward to another couple of shows in June but for me this will be my first time seeing the band two nights in the same venue. How differerent are the expectations going back for the second show compared to consecutive nights in different cities? I know there will be plenty of songs and not too many repeats but will these shows be remembered like some of the classic two night stands or is it too early in the tour for the band to be fully "on?" I'm still hoping there will be a warm up show somewhere in the days leading up to Manchester so they don't come out too ring rusty.
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12

Whatever the second night may bring, the first night in Manchester will be the opening gig of the tour...will be a special show :) See you there.
Sometimes I speak of nothing at all.

Opening night will be the first PJ show ever for me, plus I'm going with a friend I've talked to online for more than 10 years but never met yet, so it will be super exciting for me. Kickoff for the summer of amazingness. :D

Don't go with any expectations ;)

But hopefully the band will have managed to get over jet lag etc before they take to the stage.

I remember some people saying they thought the band were jet-lagged in Dublin 2010 and Ed even mentioned it the next night in Belfast but I thought both performances were shit hot and that comes across on the boots. There's definately added excitement for the first show of the tour but next time I'd love to catch them for the last few shows. Manchester should be great being the only mainland UK shows.... :D

From my experience (MSG and Seattle), the 2nd night is much better than the first.

All I hope for is not too many repeats over both nights.

Oh, and Release to open night 1. Throw in In My Tree, Half Full, Glorified G, Red Mosquito, Hunger Strike with Cornell on night 2 and a couple of Lost Dogs and I'll be happy!

Yeah I should probably lower my hopes :lol::lol: How about No Code & Riot Act in full?:lol::lol:

In all honesty, it doesn't matter what does and doesn't get played we're all gonna have one hell of a time those 2 nights. I would be very pleased if they didn't play Ole though....

It is very forgettable. Not even long enough that you could get to the bar and back in the MEN. Hopefully they've forgotten about it already.

You have so much to look forward to! I was very late to the party too, listened to PJ from the beginning and waited almost two decades! You will have an incredible two nights guaranteed. I'm crossing my fingers for Release, Garden, Last Exit, Whipping, Indifference, Off He Goes and Nothing As It Seems. Just to mirror Milan's sentiments about Backspacer, I hope they lay off it a bit too. It was fun at the time but there's a lot of older songs I've yet to hear and some new stuff would be awesome.... ;)
