Andrew Breitbart was a hero to those that seek to limit the power of the ever-growing centralized federal government, and empower the American individual.

Here is a great article highlighting the many accomplishments of Andrew Breitbart, and an excellent commentary on why he was hated by so many...

Excerpt: "Breitbart exposed the radical Left for its anti-American and anti-Christian bias. The Left hated him for it. Breitbart didn’t care. He welcomed the hate and relished the combat."

This article also highlights many of the negative things that were said about him following his death, some of which, sadly, were echoed here on this forum, yesterday... interesting.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

Gabriel ‏ @gabriel0923: Andrew #Breitbart has died having been finally consumed by his revolting hatred! The world is better off without him!

Natasha Yar-Routh ‏ @xiomber: Andrew Breitbart is dead, good riddance to bad trash. He was a vile excuse for a human being.

vtred @vtred1: Good riddance to Andrew Breitbart — a McCarthyite nutcase.

Sean Paul Kelley ‏ @seanpaulkelley: Andrew Breitbart has died: bigjournalism.com/lsolov/2012/03… If so, good riddance.CpG ‏ @Crow1138: I know it's wrong, but good riddance “@cnnbrk: Conservative blogger Andrew #Breitbart has died, attorney says. on.cnn.com/wkDt4g”

TahitiNut ‏ @TahitiNut: Forgive me, God, for I have sinned. I err on the side of being pleased with a death ... of Andrew Breitbart. Good riddance.

RIP Andrew... They hate you because you were right, and you proved it. See ACORN. See Pigford. etc.

Ultimately, engaging in politics is not good for the soul, regardless of which side you choose. The comments reflect radical sentiments that would be echoed by the opposite side no matter if left or right.

It's the price of playing hardball.

If people aren't smart enough to realize that all of these talking heads who say things just to get a rise (left or right) don't believe a word they're saying then we'll continue down this path.

These guys are entertainers who make money pandering to the hate amongst all of us.

When you hear someone spew crap just smile and nod and move on.

hatred from some on the left for a man on the right who propagated hatred. Both the pot and kettle are idiots in my opinion.

Ok, but WHO did Breitbart HATE? MIllions of people found him to be a champion of individual liberty, and against government corruption. So WHO did he HATE?

And lay off the name-calling, please. "Idiots" may offend some people here....

Shirley Sherrod is a person he directed his hate against. But once again it's entertainment and he made a fortune.

When middle class and lower class (income) people sit and get worked up over what millionaires are saying, we're playing right into their hands.

I care what Bill Maher, Bill O'reilly, Tiger Woods, Patricia Heaton and Tom Brady have to say about the world I live in all the same.... zero.

I'm sure he hated a lot of people... even columnists from the same political side have said how he loved confrontation. Even putting his person feelings aside, how he operated propagated A LOT of hate.

Look at two of the most well known shitshows that he was involved in - The ACORN and Shirley Sherrod videos (although he didn't do the ACORN sting, he was one of the loudest backers). Both instances of doctored video to really do nothing but to work up a frenzy of hatred.

Sherrod sued him for libel, and by all accounts, will lose her lawsuit.

But I see your point on the talking heads and stuff.
  • Breitbart exposed a Gov't funded organization, ACORN, who was using tax dollars to help pimps set-up whorehouses for underage victims of sex trafficking.

I for one, consider him a hero for this. What decent person could say that illegal behavior was appropriate?

You are trying to have two different arguments here, or I'm just lost on your logic... We are saying he propagated hate, and your counter argument to that is that sex trafficking is bad, and Sherily Sherrod will likely lose a civil case.

    Why can't it be both?

What some idiots at ACORN did/said was asinine, but he used doctored video to sensationalize it to the point that it was blown out of proportion.

Shirley Sherrod might not have a winnable case of libel, but he used edited video of a speech, to work up a racially motivated frenzy that really had no basis.

The basis was in the Pigford scandel.

You say the man was a HATE PROPAGANDIST, and submit for proof, one womans still outstanding libel claim?

Thats not gonna cut it, my man. Id say those that subscribe to that view have a very weak reason to hate him, while those of us who support individual liberty and smaller centralized government have many reasons to celebrate his accomplishments. Seems like the haters are just hatin...
  • Ultimately his legacy will be that he was a liar and a bad one. Just good at pr.

His ACORN "expose" video was successful in that he had them shut down. But when the full and unedited video surfaced and the truth that the ACORN workers had in fact called the police as soon as the fake "pimp" left to report a child prostitution ring... It became clear that it was all theatrics and the movement continues.

His video of Shirley Sherod was successful in that it got her fired. But when the unedited video surfaced again, it became clear that he'd done a massive editing job to change what she'd said to the opposite meaning. And her lawsuit will be a huge hit to his estate but will also most likely tarnish his name forever as "that liar who made up all those lies."

    So... That's his legacy.

don't forget his inability to own up to his mistakes. he always just accused people of not reading his full article on his website or something. he never admitted he was wrong... having narcissistic personality disorder had to suck...
