Bootleg to Choose

I am trying to find a bootleg to download for my free one with my renewal. It is very difficult to find one out of all that are offered. What are some suggestions you all may have? I am looking for one that is from 2010-2011.

Thanks.

Every time somebody renews their membership there's one of these threads, and each time it seems that people recommend shows they were at, because that's the best show ever of course. If I were you I would look through the setlists and find one you like, and if you don't like the show there's no skin off your ass because it was free. There is no definitive best show, and people have different opinions, do a little looking and choose one.

  • Buenos Aires gave me goose bumps and the biggest smile ever. It has to be hands down the best boot I have listened to because of the crowd vibe. THEY SING THE GUITAR RIFFS!!!

    Key Arena - Nov 05, 2000
    Gorge Amphitheater - Sep 01, 2005, Jul 22,23, 2006

Lol. I wouldn't personally want a boot where the crowd is singing the riffs. I want hear the riffs on their own! The sing-alongs with the lyrics is where I have to draw the line, lol. I personally don't really take into account what the crowd sounds like on bootlegs. I want the boot for the music, not for some kind of half-knowing-what-it-might-have-been-to-be-there feeling. Just because no matter what, i will never know if i wasn't there. I mean, i understand that there is a real sense of pleasure in knowing that PJ is getting the adappreciation they deserve, but really, i already know they are as a fact, so don't so much have to hear it sopping up the sound of their music on a bootleg. That's what the encore breaks are for. Of course i want ones where PJ has an awesone set list performed super well, and that is of course influenced by the vibe they're getting from the crowd a lot, but i don't wanna hear 30,000 people trying to sing guitar! I prefer if as much crowd noise as possible is filtered out except for the good sing-alongs. So it certainly is to each their own! :)

By far the most played bootleg in my collection.

newark 5/18/10 has an incredible setlist, too. they played brother & alone. boston 5/17/10 is also incredible. as far as 2011 goes: hamilton, rio, or toronto night 1. the garden 2010 shows are also awesome. i wasn't at any of these, but do have them all.

Definately check out the setlists for your favorite songs. I know I can't own them all so I look for shows with songs I don't already have. Here are a few I do have that are all excellent & played often:
    NY 06-25-08
    Hamilton 11
    Sao Paulo 11-3-11 A+
    Philly 10-31-09 A++ & alot of songs
I know, its hard isn't it  , still deciding on mine but I think I'll go with an 08, figure those won't be around much longer so I'll get as many as I can & then move on to finish working on 09. Good luck :D

I also like the Boston 5.17.2010 show.
The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols

Do digital memberships come with a boot download as well? Or is it just analog?

Having read this thread, and with the 10% off, I decided I needed to freshen up my live PJ. The gorge set is great, but its been played too much by me.

I want Boston 5.17.10 as per some of the recommendations, but is it true you don't get any of the covers?

I needs me some Love Reign O'me!

Also, when are they going to release PJ20 boot!

    Cheers

Listening to it now. I think the crowd enhances it - singing the riffs doesnt get in the way of the songs at all (its in the background or beginning of songs). By contrast, I will forever be annoyed at the guy who snuck into my row during MSG2 - 2010 and butchered "Black" at the top of his lungs!

This site has streaming of bootlegs, and lists those available for purchase. You can listen to all of them track by track, and there's a link that directs you to Pearl Jam's website when you're ready to buy.

For me, this site, along with reviewing the set lists as stated in earlier posts and reading through the reviews following the shows listed on the band's Goods site have also been helpful to me when deciding which ones to consider.

  • YOU MUST HAVE: Cleavland 2010....I'm not just saying this becuase I was there and becuase it was the best seats that I ever got, BUT they opened with wash and closed with indifference...need I say more? Watch wash for that show on youtube and you will see how into it Eddie was that night. :D It was mothers day and Eddie tells us that he didn't call his mother and so we all booed - it was funny.
