    here... here

back in the "olden" days college was basically self study sitting around and shooting the shit like a big think tank...

I find some people's diploma papers are actually worthless, I should have like triple honorary PhD's next to some clowns.

It's embarrassing that Santorum is even in this race. It should be a 3 way race between Huntsman, Romney, and Paul.

I was hoping the economic situation and the reality that Obama easily won the election 3 years ago would have woken up the republican party. Unfortunately, they continue to pander to the far right that allows them to win a primary with rhetoric, but it doesn't help the party or the country in the long run.

  • Yes.

Santorum is anti-college. He is against college, junior colleges, technical college, four-year universities, and schools for the blind.

He hates women, and he hates gays- so he sleeps by himself.

He also hates small fury animals, and generally dislikes anything that lives.

Of course it isn't... and it's not the best path for some people to take. Being educated does not equal being a critical thinker or being a good person. But, it probably is the easiest way to be exposed to other ways of thinking, and to meet people with differing opinions at a young age.

But to say that university's may be "harmful to our country" is outright moronic.

Hey, they figured out a way to avoid a nuclear war, and to improve relations with Russia after the cold war. I have higher expectations for them then any other potential ticket

You forgot to mention that he loves the idea of Satan. Satan will scare us all back into submission. Unless you were being sarcastic..oh right! I can play too...Santorum hates Satan! ;)

    "What a snob." lol, priceless. For this guy to pander to people idiotic enough to agree with this stuff is priceless. You're right Dick, the president of the United States promoting that high school graduates go to college is sooooo snobby;

"Born in Virginia, Rick Santorum was raised primarily in Butler, Pennsylvania. He obtained an undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, and a law degree degree from the Dickinson School of Law. Santorum worked as an attorney at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart."

Really terrible! In all seriousness, this would be a disastrous move for the US. But the fact that he seems to have a shot at it- that seems to say something in-of-itself- something I have a hard time wrapping my head around. As a nation really seem to be lost in the woods.

    Does he?

From what I gather, Santorum represents the far-right of the Republican Party. Even if he does manage to muster 30% support from the most right-wing Republicans, what are his actual chances when moderates and liberals go to the polls in November? It seems to me that a Santorum would pretty much guarantee Obama a second term. In fact I can't see any Republican candidate other than Romney having a real shot at the Presidency.

Moving further to the right isn't going to win the Republicans this election. Extremely conservative voters were never voting Democrat to begin with. Instead, the Republican Party seems to be doing a stellar job scaring the hell out of moderate voters who might have actually helped them regain the oval office.

Santorum doesn't represent anyone particular group as far as I can tell except social conservatives. He isn't a fiscal conservative by any stretch...he is simply representative of some of the more intolerant social conservatives. There is little he says that would inspire fiscal conservative/more socially liberal people to come out to the polls, and I think a lot of independents would describe themselves that way...

Seems like a large block now but really he is winning in states that won't matter to the general election. he can win a straw poll with a small turn out, but doesn't even have to organization to get the delegates from those states. add to that it was during a week when the administration was seen as anti-religion firing up the christian right base...i wouldn't vote for him and I would consider myself right of center, I am SURE there are a majority in the country who feel that way.
Now that he is the "front runner" he is getting his history checked...and people will realize that his history has more baggage than even Gingrich carries. It took one debate as the front runner for the truth to come out about his "conservatism" and him to make one of the dumbest mistakes I have seen in a campaign.

It's not the only way, of course not. I have just found it to be the most helpful so far in my life.

I actually think if you go to college without already have develop some ability of critical thinking, you are in some serious trouble.

  • this is so funny to me. in this guy's paradigm of the universe there is this horned-creature with red skin living in the center of the earth. this creature owns a torture chamber filled with people (like me!) and unless i obey his commands i'll fall rapidly into this evil muck. this satan guy is somehow controlling the music, media and academia of this country in order to manipulate our children.

simultaneously, he tells us that there is this white place with golden streets in the sky owned by a gaseous vertebrate of astronomic heft. jesus is floating around, angels are singing and everyone is androgynous and there is no sex, lust or desire (sounds kinda shitty to me).

it just sounds like something a crazy person would say. i mean come on, if he was spouting this nonsense - as it were real reality - about some other fictitious book like Harry Potter, he'd be drugged and instutitionalized. or maybe homeless. here he is running for President and has a decent chance of winning it all! in the "most advanced" country in the world, no less.

what the fuck type of place do we live in?! this is so absurd that Kafka could not have imagined it!

Dont worry Santorum stays in the "evil Muck" he created.
  • I honestly don't feel he meant it in a way that exudes "Anti-college".

However, this guy is an utter douchebag!!! Obviously, we all know it.

I don't feel he has a chance, but then again, what do I know.

May Rick Satorum's God help us if he is elected President.

Republicans this shit would have been funny like last year, but seriously we were already assfucked by 8 years of W (who may actually be mentally retarded), can ya just find some carcass to throw out there that isn't horrible. And for the record Santorum is not anti-college for rich white people who want to hear about how rich white people made this country great, and/or learn to work obediently for other rich white people. He is, however, anti-college when it comes to being critical of these peoples' various mistakes in order to learn from them and make this country a better place for all.
