We know Santorum is against birth control, single mothers, women in combat, gays, etc.. but now he has come out against college?!?!?!

http://news.yahoo.com/santorum-obama-college-plan-aimed-indoctrination-221507241.html
On the president’s efforts to boost college attendance, Santorum said, “I understand why Barack Obama wants to send every kid to college, because of their indoctrination mills, absolutely … The indoctrination that is going on at the university level is a harm to our country.”

wtf?

Maybe Santorum would benefit from some education at the sanitorium.

They're kidding us, right? This guy doesn't really have a shot at the presidency, right? Right? :wtf:

  • If my education was solely based on what my parents know I would never see the other side of issues. Universities are good for you. You see other perspectives on things that you wouldn't if you stayed home with mommy and daddy. If you choose to believe everything a college tells you then you obviously haven't built up critical thinking skills.

    Santorum is a joke

Really terrible! In all seriousness, this would be a disastrous move for the US. But the fact that he seems to have a shot at it- that seems to say something in-of-itself- something I have a hard time wrapping my head around. As a nation really seem to be lost in the woods.

santorum would prefer to have the next few generations not go to school and not learn how to think critically. then nobody would question his faith based policies that he would no doubt push to be implemented. the gop wants a dumb population.

college is an indoctrination center? college prepared me for my career. i would never have been able to take gross anatomy without college...grad school taught me how to think critically, so of course santorum would be against that.

i absolutely 100% hope and pray that santorum gets the nomination so the voters can have the showdown that we have been waiting for for a long time. people will either vote for the god based anti woman and anti immigrant and anti minority and anti gay agenda or they will vote for the more moderate agenda..

if santorum gets the nomination the november election is gonna be a bloodbath of epic proportions...

    Does he?

From what I gather, Santorum represents the far-right of the Republican Party. Even if he does manage to muster 30% support from the most right-wing Republicans, what are his actual chances when moderates and liberals go to the polls in November? It seems to me that a Santorum would pretty much guarantee Obama a second term. In fact I can't see any Republican candidate other than Romney having a real shot at the Presidency.

Moving further to the right isn't going to win the Republicans this election. Extremely conservative voters were never voting Democrat to begin with. Instead, the Republican Party seems to be doing a stellar job scaring the hell out of moderate voters who might have actually helped them regain the oval office.

This stuff is frightening - especially so since he's the front runner.
Re the college is bad idea - I was previously married to a Jehovah's Witness and they totally agreed with this - that the children would be led astray by being explosed to all that "worldly" thinking - not to mention what a waste of time it was when they could be out knocking on doors instead as time was running out before Armeggedon. It's the main motive behind all the home schooling - don't risk exposing your children to any potentially conflicting ideas. And they're afraid of Muslims????
These people take this stuff deadly seriously - and want nothing less than to get the rest of us limited by their beliefs. I beat it away from my ex before my boys were brainwashed - it's a lot harder to escape an entire nation heading in that direction.

We all need to fight HARD.
  • Sorry guys, gotta say it...

What the fuck is happening to your country?

The options you have on the right should scare the pants from all open minded people and looks from my perspective to be a million times worse than Bush/Cheney/Rove.

You guys really need to mobilise the masses to vote in 2012 because it's not just your country at stake, these guys will fuck up the entire world.

I highly doubt he would win if he was nominated. I certainly wouldn't vote for him.

After the tea party came out and got popular, all of the factions of the republican party tried to hijack it. It looks like the religious right has won that battle.

Even though he has his flaws, for republicans, Mitt Romney is the most electable candidate of theirs in the general election. Instead of going for the win with a moderate republican, it seems like they have doubled down on crazy.

  • Yes.

Santorum is anti-college. He is against college, junior colleges, technical college, four-year universities, and schools for the blind.

He hates women, and he hates gays- so he sleeps by himself.

He also hates small fury animals, and generally dislikes anything that lives.

What I find just as disturbing is there are people here who feel going to university is the only way you can develop into a critical thinker or an open mind...education doesn't determine one's ability to think critically, treat people right and just plain do the right thing.

It's not the only way, of course not. I have just found it to be the most helpful so far in my life.
