Why do they never really play "Smile"?

    was lucky enough to see and hear Smile at Sydney 3 last year. Awesome night topped off with Smile and I Got You in the encore.

    yep was there too. Was this the song Stone played bass and Jeff played lead "with Eddie Vedder on scratchy vocals"?

    I have a “Smile magnet” as well. My wife has some serious rare song mojo. Since we met, 4 years ago, I have taken her to 5 shows, which she has seen Smile (2x), Footsteps, Crown of Thorns, Masters of War, Undone, I got you, Little Wing with the Lyrics, Eddie Playing Porch by himself as the pre-show opener, among others…

    It’s really a lot of fun; she is a good luck charm. You just need to bring someone along with PJ Karma

    They played it yesterday, in Werchter. Sounded great.
    Ed gave away his harmonica halfway the song.

    Yes... for me it was the highlight of the evening. And as I already said in an other thread I think they played it as a reaction on the balloons with the inscription 'thank you... we miss you already' the day before in Nijmegen. He even sang those words there but not the whole song.
