not even sure i could click the link for fear of how awful this will be.

edit: yeah, this is just fucking terrible. leave her music alone, nobody can replicate or even come close to doing it justice... at all. bad idea chris!

It was a nice gesture. Whitney will always have done it best, but I think Chris did a decent job.

I was watching some older Chris Cornell videos. He's sounding f**king amazing right now. :D

    The guy is fearless.

That's a great way to describe him. I like it.
  • I don't really see why this is so controversial. I've always seen Cornell as being a soul singer at heart, take a song like Say Hello 2 Heaven, that vocal is pure soul.

I'm guessing some people think Whitney lacked credibility because she sang pop music and she didn't really write her own songs? But would the same people accuse Layne Staley of lacking credibility when he sang songs like Down In A Hole - songs he didn't write? The sign of an exceptional artist for me is an artist who can convey emotion, that thing you can't put your finger on, you don't even need to because first and foremost you feel it. I know it's been a long time since Whitney was in her prime, but when she was, she was an unbelievable singer, and she sang with the kind of conviction you can not fake, and I can't help but respect that.

better, very subjective, technically......not a chance, but of course it's cool to prefer one over the other.
