I like this post, and I LOVE Backspacer! Hell yes.

  • Good to see such a consensus.

I think it's a great album also. Lots of great songs. Force of Nature, IMO, is one of the most underrated PJ songs around.
  • Yeh man nothing else to say really....well put
  • Backspacer just happened to be the album that was fairly new when I first discovered PJ, so it was one of the first I listened to. I found myself loving nearly every song on there! :D

And yes, I definitely agree with PKTrekGirl that "Force of Nature" is one of the most underrated PJ songs around-it's my favorite from the album, and among my all time favorite PJ songs!

To me this WOULD be true if it didn't seem to kind of turn in to the same guitar outro as Betterman at the end.
It felt stale when it hit that point, for me.

But otherwise, I'd definitely say it was the stand out song on the album, as far as my lousy opinion goes.

    backspacer sucks.

riot act is their best album. songs like cropduster and ghost are absolutely brilliant. riot act is also perfect because they brought in boom.... everyone knows that after binaural we were all thinking "you know what pearl jam needs? a fucking organ!" did i mention how brilliant cropduster was? it's so brilliant that it makes the brilliancy of john lennon look like john mayer. brilliant!

luckily there's still one thread about Backspacer open...

My god, how does anyone dare to say it is a regular album? I've just spun, at the top of my speakers, amazing, and now I'm spining the 45's, the songs are louder than the album... by the way, anybody else who has the Just breathe b/w Got some vinyl with the labels on the other way round? Mine, the label on the A side reads Just breathe, bue when I spin it I listen to Got some, and on the B side the label reads Got some but when I spin it I lesten to Just breathe, fancy, isn't it?
