EV must not like 10C....

Why would you limit 10C to one show to an announced list of shows and then announce a handful of additional shows that don't allow 10C folks the chance to score these tickets.....

I get they want "locals" to fill the seats but in today's world anyone can get tickets online and scalpers are the ones who will not make the most money on the shows where people will travel to. The fans are the ones that get hurt.

Darn that Eddie Vedder for adding shows to his tour.

It could be argued that he knows we are swarming the boards on the day of the sale, and maybe he is trying to give us a leg up. Ticket brokers most likely arent on pearljam.com, but we are, and word of mouth goes a long way.

I wonder if EV just isn't that big of a fan of .... the fans?

I just wonder how much information Ed even knows on the 10c ticket for his shows?...
  • The Band usually allows the "first come first serve" approach and never limits the amount of shows you can see.
The server and the qty of tickets available limit that.

I know we are not "owed" anything but at the same time.... we are faitfull and sometimes it would be nice to informed as to why things happen the way they do.

No heads up of the new shows until the hour the original shows go on sale?

I don't really understand this. The shows announced today were rollover shows, added only because the first shows sold out quickly. It would not be possible for 10C to arrange a presale for these shows because the promoters put them on sale right away.

Eddie doesn't like 10C? Eddie doesn't like the fans? How do you get there?

If anything, after seeing several of his tours feature random seating, I think Eddie may not like the seniority system.

This is definitely a way to get a head start on the scalpers/brokers. No doubt.

I think you got it. A friend of mine was in line to buy tickets in Austin and when the first show was sold out the guys working at the venue told them that a second show would be announced and tickets would go on sale "in a few minutes." People just lined back up. That's also why the tickets went on sale almost immediately after the 2nd show was announced...not tomorrow, or monday. I think this was the the plan to try and get more tickets to the fans for the general on sale.

I believe second shows are not a given and are based on how fast tickets sell. So if the demand isn't there the second show might not be added. Hard to give notice when you aren't sure if it's going to happen. Unless you wait a week and add it or something...

I disagree with the seniority thing.... there are a number of times he seems to dislike folks in the front not playing along (see Vancouver 2011).

  • Ed's probably glad all the rowdy 10 Clubbers aren't right up front for his intimate acoustic shows. :(

I can't believe there was any doubt that the demand wouldn't be there for these shows... I mean i know it's been a long time since they've toured the south and the people in the Northeast have made it clear that there's no market down here for shows, but pleaaaase.....

If anything I hope today shows this band how hungry the south is.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

You'd like to think so wouldn't you but guaranteed someone on the forums is here just for this info. Scalpers are everywhere and all they need for the priviledge is a $20 membership every year. That doesn't compare to what they mark up on tickets...
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
    Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12
  • the added show helps to bring prices down. I see tickets for the vegas show available for 110.00 each. after paying fees to sell your tickets, 110.00 is basically break even for the scalpers. If there was only 1 show, way less people would be going and prices would be much higher on ebay or stubhub. So adding shows like this helps keep prices down I think
