If hockey players were musicians...

... Marian Hossa would be Eddie Vedder?

This of course makes no sense to me since I don't know the first thing about hockey and have no idea who any of these guys are :lol: But maybe others will enjoy this. Or tear it apart. Go nuts. But the Ed write up is pretty flattering :D

Eddie Vedder is a titan of music. His voice is signature, he is intense on stage, and his energy is contagious. Off-stage, Vedder is just a regular guy. In interviews, Eddie is relatively calm and often talks about how he is just getting paid to do a job like everyone else and he's lucky it's a job doing something he loves. Well, I think we can all agree music just wouldn't be the same if Vedder and Pearl Jam never came onto the scene.

Hockey wouldn't be the same if guys like Hossa weren't involved either. Like Vedder, Hossa is a beast at his craft and has an insane amount of talent. Off the ice, Hossa is also just a calm guy who loves what he does. His team-mates seem to love the guy and it's always exciting to watch him play. Just wouldn't be the same without him which makes both, Hossa and Vedder, integral to what they do. Final Score: The Force of Nature.

Well the author is clearly a PJ fan...

...but its weird for me to think of Marian Hossa as Eddie Vedder. If hockey players were musicians, then wouldn't Marian Hossa just be Marian Hossa?

    Good find.

:lol: They are all actually pretty favourable after I read it again. But he also called Nickelback "the biggest rock band in the world". Now, I don't really like or dislike Nickelback, I just don't think of them really. But there are a few other bands I'd call biggest rock band before them.

It was a good read, Dave Grohl and Springsteen are in there too!

Why, did Ed play for three different bands three years in a row to try to win a grammy?

Nice. I did enjoy him in a Red Wings uniform though.

Just off the top of my head:

    Nickelback - Ovechkin
    Coldplay - Crosby
U2 - Luongo (Actually his favourite band ... works though.)
Toby Keith - Tim Thomas (Notice how it's never just Thomas? Maybe in Boston it is, but generally it's always Tim Thomas. But I digress.)
Lady Gaga - John Tortorella, Brian Burke (tie)
Justin Bieber - Jeff Skinner (Edit: Dustin Brown, too.)
    Eminem - Kevin Bieksa
    Morrissey - Sean Avery
    Metallica - SHANNABAN!
    XTC - Ryan Kesler

As for PJ and Ed specifically ... Jarome Iginla for Ed, Joe Thornton for PJ as a whole.
