    What are the parameters for choosing a beneficiary? I read the preparty fundraiser guide, but just want to double-check. Does it just have to be a 501(c)(3)? I also noted that it can't be a religious or political organization. Thanks!

    When I organized one back in 2010, I chose Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, as they are connected to the fan who was last seen in 2006. They received the money raised from the raffle, as well as a portion of the proceeds from the event at the bar.

    We gave away raffle tickets to people who brought in "bathroom items", since those always in need. Those bathroom items (soap, toothbrushes, etc.) were given to a OSU-campus area food pantry that several area churches are involved with.

    Basically, pick a local "good cause" near and dear to your heart like a food pantry, United Way, families of local fallen officers/troops, etc. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

    Hi,

    I am interested in volunteering for the 2012 EV Wishlist Preparty Fundraiser for the Houston, Aprill 22nd show. I have already spoken to a venue near the concert venue to hold the event. I should have confirmation today.

    I don't live in Vegas...but hope to go to that show! Scleroderma Foundation! Excellent cause. So under-funded. My sister-in-law died after a horrible 10 year battle with this horrible disease. My mother is currently struggling with Carcinoid Cancer/NET Cancer,( Steve Jobs died of this) Also under-funded. I would love to help with anything...'cause I want to go to Vegas for this show...and I don't want to spend my time gambling!

    Yes, it's preferable that the beneficiary is a legitimate 501(c)(3) for purely tax purposes alone. Since it's an EV tour, people usually will chose either something that Ed himself supports, or something local, or both. :)

    I'm interested in helping with the Phoenix show. Has an organization been identified yet? Please let me know how I can get involved. I have an idea for a sponser, it's AASK, Arizona Foster Care and Adoption. It's near and dear to my heart. We fostered and adopted our beautiful daughter through them and would love to give something back. Please let me know.

    I don't know what the plan is for Orlando, but I would love to assist.. I live about 90 minutes outside Orlando and hoping to get tickets. If the cause is yet to be determined, I would love to nominate The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. My mother was diagnosed with this type of cancer in 2009, and it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I have provided a link below as an FYI.

    You're probably already aware of it, but Celgene's Revlimid is a wonder drug for multiple myeloma.
