Freeport IL, Maybe some of you Folks in Chicago have bypassed this town on the way to Galena?
We Dont even have a record store... :-(
There used to be an AWESOME record store in Freeport. I couldn't tell you exactly where it was (we stumbled upon it on accident), or the name, but it was open in the 90's. It was a very small store. I got quite a few rare albums there. Of course when I wanted to go back and spend mucho dinero, I couldn't find it. :(
Oh, and I' live in a hole in the cornfield, closer to Freeport than Rockford, but still a distance from both places. :-)

I'm from Freeport, too! There used to be a record store downtown. No more?
Yeah, It was Ear Wax Records, but they closed a few years ago, coudln't compete with the big markets, and there was not a huge demand for vinyl at the time. Seems like a small store can only compete if they specialize in Vinyl.
You Still Live around here?
And I should have waited to post. Was this the small store I was talking about?

Yep, so great my wife's parents elected to pay money to send their daughter elsewhere. That school is a joke. They only care about the kids that take AP classes to up their ratings and discourage marginal kids from taking the ACT to preserve their test scores.

Okay so the deal is we're meeting up on Saturday, March 31st at Alive One:
2683 N Halsted St.
Chicago, IL 60614
There will be a drinking package from 8pm - 11pm $25 pp. I have confirmed the room in the front with a chance at getting the private back room in case their other plans fall through. I let them know that this is a party for PJ fanclub members and they got really excited about that, so we definitely chose the right place to do this
There's a couple people coming in from quite a distance, so a few will be at the bar much earlier in the day to get a headstart.
***This is not a fundraising event. I'm sure we can all agree that the Wishlist Foundation is a wonderful organization! However, the consensus is that this event be a simple get-together among PJ fans. If you're interested in attending a Wishlist event, check their website to find parties in your area: http://wishlistfoundation.org/

Yes, they changed from Chinks to Dragons.
I used to work with a guy whose wife went to high school there. He's Japanese. He claims that he went to her reunion and fucked with people by telling them he was the school mascot.
Can't make it. Would love to but I'm hosting a Fantasy Baseball draft that night. I tried to change to the weekend before but everyone couldn't make it. Have fun everyone!!!!!
