I have a few PJ posters in a tub for now until I get frames for em. Is this going to hurt em? Should I be worried?

As soon as I get I hang them right up, just cant spend the money on frames right now.

Well if they are in the tub don't turn it on!!!!

You should be fine. You can always roll up a thin sheet of non asitic paper when you roll up the poster to prevent scuff marks and what not.

Ideally they would be stored flat, but if it's not long term, tubes are fine. But definitely not tubs.
  • Get them out of the tube and store flat ASAP. The paper will start to stretch and warp and you will never get it flat again with out dry mounting. Get a portfolio or styrofoam boards to lay them flat between

I had a few posters in tubes for over a year and recently unrolled them to store flat. They looked just fine to me but I've heard others here say that storing in tubes is a big no no.

But maybe don't keep them in the tub, though :lol:
  • whoops..

thanks I will keep them in there for a lil then

    this
  • It is best not to keep them in the tubes for storage purposes for some of the reasons mentioned in this post and the ink on the posters can crack or flake depeding on humidity and temperature. You need to get mylar poster sleves. They are archival grade and will keep your posters clean and flat. I have approx 40 posters and don't have the money to frame them all so they are stored that way. All museum non displayed documents are stored using this method. I have included a link where I puchased my mylar sleves. They are not cheap, but its cheaper than framing them and worth it to preseve them. hope this helps.
