I love Seether, and they did a really good job with this song. Don't judge a band by their singles, they're nothing like Nickelback. I don't like their new album as much as the previous ones, but maybe it'll grow on me. They've been through a lot too, the singer's brother committed suicide a couple of years ago, one of the songs on the new album is dedicated to him. The video for Rise Above This is also about the same subject.

I don't mind Shinedown either, they used to be REAL, and they've got some great songs ("45" for example). It's just that when I watched some new Youtube clips, I didn't even recognize them as the same guys... They seem to make the same speeches and tell the same stories at every show, which makes me wonder how "real" they are anymore... it all seems so premeditated (is that a word?) now. :(

Thanks. I meant that everything that Shinedown does seems so planned these days. Almost like they don't mean what they say anymore. It's a shame, because they were so great in the beginning.

So, I'm sick and having trouble sleeping; I have Pandora playing on my Kindle at night, it seems to help me sleep a little better. But yesterday morning at 4:00a.m. I awoke to this song. I was confused and disoriented, mainly because it sounded to me as if the opening to this song had been completely messed up. So my first thought was "Was Mike having a bad night?" Then the vocals began. :x

I don't know anything about Seether. I don't like this cover and, yes, I was annoyed because I thought I was about to hear "Immortality," and what I got was a pale imitation.

No, I don't hate all PJ covers or all bands that cover PJ. Gaslight Anthem (Did I get that right?) do a great job, I think.

The Gaslight Anthem's version of State Of Love & Trust is pretty good, even though it sounds a bit too much like the original, but that's just my opinion. I love it when bands add something of their own to cover songs. I think they've also covered Last Kiss. Anyway, I really like that band. Their singer Brian Fallon is a huge PJ fan, by the way. 8-)

    I love this place.

No one can cover a Pearl Jam song because it will suck or the band doing it sucks. But the second Pearl Jam covers another bands song it instantly becomes better than the original.

I personally love it when bands cover PJ, it's shows their influence and respect from upcoming artists and their peers a like. I'm not a fan of Seether, but I really liked this cover, it's got a real heaviness to it and sounds great IMHO. Nice to see a band covering something other than Ten era too.

How does our version of Immortality stack up?

Just click on all songs. It's the last song listed. Enjoy everyone.
