I kind of doubt they'd make more. Thats the thing about mass production. It's much cheaper (and cost effective to make them all at the same time).

Since they've already done a run of each item, the demand for a 2nd round would probably be less. So they'd have to order a smaller amount driving the costs up.

I think the 10c has difficulty gauging demand. They ordered too many of the Vs/Vitalogy super deluxe boxsets (hence the sale a few months ago), but understimated demand of the pj20 stuff.

You would think though, with the bluray, they could rerelease with a generic 3 pack bluray case with generic inserts (like most other blurays). Other then having to book space in a bluray facility it would seem pretty easy. I think it would be tough for them to redo with the original packaging, but using generic cases would be easy.

I think the pj20 vinyl would be hard to do over. It needs its unique 3 vinyl packaging. They also made a signifigant number of copies (i would gather mor ethen the bluray), which means demand for a 2nd pressing would be much lower, and probably wouldn't help keep costs down.

No offense to anyone, but that's the problem with this place. Not every active member is going to pay $165 for a box set of albums they already have... however, the definitive documentary on the band with extra unseen live footage... almost every active member is going to want that! Any of us could have figured that out. Even at $60 and $70, which I originally thought was a crazy price. So ridiculous.

I don't see what is ridiculous about this. The blu ray set was available on the web site for purchase for a few weeks. There was plenty of time to purchase it.

IBTL...but a question: First off, I feel for the ppl that missed out on the deluxe dvd/bluray. But, I noticed that alot of ppl who missed out on those, also complained about the prices being too high. So, my question is this: Would those same ppl who missed out originally, have no problem paying those same prices if it was to go back on sale again?

    honest question...Happy PJ21

No there wasn't. Barely 3 weeks. And there are something like 500 people that signed the petition requesting a reprint of the movies. So whether it was 3 weeks or 6 weeks, there were not enough physical items to be sold to the amount of people that would have LIKED to have bought them. What's ridiculous is they didn't have enough copies to sell once the release date actually hit. How many posts have you seen with people coming on in November or December saying "Hey, I don't post on here often, just came on to buy the PJ20 DVDs and saw they're all sold out? Does anyone know if there will be more or have an extra?" etc etc... I've seen a lot of those.
I'm exaggerating a little about every active member wanting a copy... but clearly there should have probably been 2 or 3 times as many DVDs and blu rays made as there actually were. And yes, $60-70 did seem too high, I didn't buy at first for a while, figured I'd put it on my Christmas wishlist... but once the Bluray sold out, I got the DVD on the last possible day they were available. $60 does not seem like a lot compared to the now-going rate of $300-500.

insteresting question... will those who couldn't purchase it at that time frame and at that price be able to do it next time?

someone said that the 10C has difficulties in gauging the demand, it may be so, since the number 10C members is huge, but it may as well be their intention to manufacture 500 or 5000 and that's it, so in that case they met the demand, there may be many reasons why they manufactured that exact number of items, and as another one said, manufacturing this item a second time might not be profitable...

I don't know about the Blu Ray, but there might be the slightest and faintest chance of a coloured and/or a glow in the dark vinyl, but that slightest and faintest chance is very tiny, we'll see it the Tuesday after the following...

Sounds like you're suggesting that there were only 200-300 of these pressed. Or that there is demand far beyond the 500 petitioners. I would guess that 1000s of these were made (do we know how many?). So they should have a few thousand sitting around a warehouse waiting for people to come along and buy them? I reckon if they had pressed 1000 more that thing might never have sold out. Especially the DVD which really only sold out once people realised the Blu-ray was gone to them (like you).

It said limited edition and was available for 3 weeks.

Obviously there aren't enough for every 10C member when it says limited edition.

If someone wanted it that badly, they had 3 weeks to purchase it.

500 isn't that many copies. I wonder what the min. run is at a bluray plan, or if you're only going to press 500 or 1000 more, how much that amps up the per unit costs.

I'm guessing the original run was probably several thousand (maybe as much as 5000?)

Yah they underestimate the original demand, but the additional demand (even at 500) probably isn't enough to do a reissue while keeping costs down.

I was on the fence with it. I really wanted it, but it was really expensive. Then I figured what the hell, I love collecting blurays so I ordered it (also after it was made clear it wouldn't be available at retail. originally i thought it would, so i figured i could wait it out for a sale). So I guess I got luck and put my order in a few days before it sold out.

but still you have to put in large orders to keep the average per unit cost down. The 10c messed up when they didn't gauge original demand (probably a kneejerk reaction to the vs/vitalogy leftovers), but its probably too late now, as they don't see enough demand left to do another big run of them.

That being said. It would probably be way easier to do a 2nd issue in a standard bluray case. Burning blurays and labeling them is probably easy. Its the pearl jam non-standard packing that probably is the biggest hurdle.

So they can't run some more out ! As if they can't and as if they won't sell ! Well when they release the next album maybe they should only run off a few thousand.

Plus what if ur fan that's not in the club i mean I havent been a member for ever but I still used to buy everything that was released
