    Cool

Just got an audio technica for Xmas!!
I need to decide if I want to buy a separate receiver or run it thru my Yamaha surround sound.

I'm clueless in these matters, but excited by the possibilities

Best quote of the day, with turntable $$$ you're paying for consistency, longevity, and audiophile sound quality. Once it sounds good to you, then that's where the buck stops.

there should be a stereo setting on your receiver, and the the turntable probably has it's own preamp.

Probably a dumb question, but I am looking to purchase a turntable, receiver, and speaker set soon and to be honest I don't really know where to start. I know a lot of places aren't in the market for selling turntables, but I hear they are making somewhat of a come back. I was thinking about starting off with Best Buy because I was there a few weeks ago and briefly just skimmed over the set they had there. I understand they will have a newer turntable, as well as the turntable, receiver, and speakers being more expensive, but don't really know many other good places to start. Would really like to getting that vinyl spinnin'. :D

Any suggestions on good places to start looking?
