If you guys want to discuss it, PLEASE, do it somewhere else... I like the traffic... Please keep in mind, I do consignment, not all the posters are mine, but I pack, ship, and store ANYTHING that is on there.
Now, back to my original post:
I prefer to not buy my PJ Vinyl from the Ten Club, I don't like paying shipping, and I like to support my local independent record stores... I called Twist and Shout, a HUGE record store in Denver last week about getting a PJ20 Vinyl. I buy a lot of vinyl there. They said they would have 1 in on Tuesday, get there early and I'll get it. When I got to the counter and asked if they had it, they guy looked uncomfortable, then told me it was on eBay? I asked what he meant, told him I am quite the PJ fan, own ALL their vinyl, he asked if I'd be willing to pay $120 for it. I said NOPE, 10C sold it for $35, Amazon also, I'll get it somewhere else.
Turns out, this is common record store practice.0 -
i just browsed the website and I do not think the prices are outrageous. As a matter of fact I respect them. However, there is a huge difference in what Taper is doing and what the record store is doing. If I am not mistaken isn't there a suggested retail price that should be followed by retailers? Taper's site is a secondary market. Big difference!!!0

How did you get these poster artists to go along with this....?pjtaper wrote:http://www.taperspostervault.com

Thanks for looking. Sadly, I lost my job a few months ago, my option, get a 9 to 5 and MISS the snowboard season, or start dumping some of my INSANE art collection... Take a look, I have shit ALL over my house, my bed can't be slept on, it's full of posters flattening.. I have WAY too much. My walls are full... I sold a Black Keys Sperry yesterday, under the going rate, I did NOT want to see that go, but I have 3 other Black Keys Chuck Sperry posters, some special editions of them, and an EMEK Black Keys with a harmonica drawn on it, personally for me, a friend asked him to do it... ALL of the posters are sitting in my flat file... I could fall off a cliff tomorrow, what good does it do a dead person to lay on top of an awesome art collection? Life is too short... You guys are harassing a fellow member, HARASSING me, when I just wanted to point out something I had no idea was going on.
I'll repost the reason I started this thread, once again... Rant over...

Good to know they can't do this with Record Store Day items. I know this store gets EVERYTHING from RSD, the smaller shops in Denver do not... I really wish that could somehow change... Twist and Shout, so cool, independent store, BULLSHIT!PSUS2H wrote:I called a place in Minnesota and got the same story, they had two left and were putting them on Amazon. I cant blame a store, it would be one thing if Bestbuy were doing this, but these are independently owned stores and they need to make every buck they can to stay in business.
Now, they cant do this for RSD until after 30 days have passed since RSD, otherwise they are banned from RSD.0 -
I didn't see any PJ Merch on Twist and Shouts eBay store. actually I thought there prices were right along with my local store.
Although I do think all record stores should go by the 30 day RSD rule, before posting online.Post edited by MedozK on0 -

If every record store would just go by the 30 day RSD rule, I think most people would be ok with that.0
-
If they waited 30 days to put this on ebay, I'd be TOTALLY fine with that...0

Im not sure...there seems to be a lot of them on the bay right now..I guess a lot of people trying to flip them..I think the price will eventually do down to about retail..(about $80-$100)..most flippers are in for a quick fix...they dont want to sit on inventory to long
Then once they all find homes, then they may start to work their way back up.
But you never know....stuff is worth what people will pay.

I called The Exclusive Company who had it for 58.99. They had one left and held it for me till I got there. It was an hour drive and I didn't get to leave till a couple hours after I called. It was there when I arrived and they even had 25% off all vinyl that week (I got it the Monday before it came out.) Total cost was like 45 bucks. If there is one near you try them.
