you can do either. it can be kept in storage for up to a year and should age rather well. it's your call.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

I say drink it. It is not that great, and I can't see it getting much better if you wait. Plus the longer you wait the more your expectations will get built up in your head and you run the risk of it being more of a letdown. Plus even with beers that can be aged I always think if you only have one you should drink it fresh, otherwise if you aged it how would you know if it got any better?Post edited by Kel Varnsen on0

Actually, it probably won't age very well. Drink it (and re-cap it if you want a "mint condition" bottle).mcgruff10 wrote:you can do either. it can be kept in storage for up to a year and should age rather well. it's your call.
I drank one of mine with Thanksgiving dinner. I'll drink the second one on Christmas Eve. I'm still not sure what I'll do with the other two.0

Only caveat: You must listen to Pearl Jam while drinking it. 6/27/98 - East Troy, WI 6/27/98 - East Troy, WI

I like the Faithfull. Not the most complex beer but I think they were going for a beer that would have broad appeal. I say chill it and wait for a special occasion to enjoy it. Then just rinse out the bottle and save. Also, if you want to save the bottle cap, use the lighter trick to pop it. Opening it that way doesn't bend the cap all up and you will be able to put it back on after your done drinking it. Cheers! 0 0

if you pop the top with a lighter it WILL mess up the cap a little on one side. take a real bottle cap opener and lightly lift it all around the cap and it will come right off and NOT LOOK damaged in any way, and will fit nicely when putting it back on the bottle.Alpine Valley, PJ20 9-3-2011

I totally feel about this the way I do vinyl: open it up and use it for its intended purpose! There's no gain in keeping the liquid bottled up, and once you've drunk the beer, you still have that great bottle to keep forever.
I'm about as big of a beer geek as I am a PJ geek, and the beer is merely good...not one of Dogfish Head's best, and PJ deserved something a bit better and more complex, but still, I didn't kick it outta my glass, that's for sure.
Pop that cap!!!"I know I was born and I know that I'll die...the in between is mine"0

drink it... and then you can say you've had it... it's not gonna age well... it's too light of a beer and the alcohol is too low. i'm thinking after 3 months it'll taste like corona...
 i like beer...i like sound...0

The bottle caps are all the same from DFH as far as I know. It would be really easy to put a replacement one on if you fudge up the original-All that's sacred comes from youth.0

you could always try to find as many as you can and drink them all and save one unopened. I have found about 16 of them and drink a few a week.0

When I got a bottle I asked the guy if it would be better with age or not. He said that it would mellow the fruitiness out, but to drink it before 2 years at the latest though. Looked like he knew what he was talking about too.
The beer not being very fruity to begin with, I think it would just get worse with age. I like the little (minor) kick that it had.Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?0
