anyone know when japanese players get posted?

Anytime after their season ends, which was extended because of the earthquake, but is over now. The shortstop has already been posted. Who knows on Darvish. There was reports after the winter meetings, then his dad said Jan.

cool ... thanks ... i'm willing to roll the dice on darvish ...

I want the Yanks to sign Darvish badly. He's only 25, his numbers are incredible, from everything I have read and watching him pitch one game from this season, he looks to be by far the best option out there, especially since the posting fee does not go towards the luxury tax.

dammit ... i thought you guys weren't high on the guy ... guess it'll be between you guys and the rangers for him ... no draft picks either ...

Well, I am not speaking for Cashman, I just think it's a really good idea for the yankees. He has actually been pretty quiet on Darvish. All he has really said is that the Yankees are better equipped to make a decision on a Japanese player than they were a few years ago.

Nationals have a 6 year offer out to Wilson, that's insane.

Pujol's wife wants him to leave Lozano after the Deadspin article. Heyman says the article is getting a lot of talk there too.

Looking like the Marlins offer to Pujols could be 10 years and more than $200 mil. This is getting really interesting. MLBTR has an executive saying the Marlins chances are 50-50. Edit: He definitely wants more than $22 annually though, will be interesting to see if the Cardinals boost their offer if the Marlins will counter. This could get fun.

    Reyes
    Hanley
    Pujols
    Stanton
    Logan Morrison

Damn, that is pretty fucking legit.

Nah, I was just continuing Xavier's Major League references. I forgot what team we were talking about.

For us in S.Fla, It would be nice to see Pujols in a Marlins uniform, but I just cant picture it.
They really do need a big name to get things rolling with that new stadium though.
I've been to maybe 3-4 games since 2000. I know I'd be going a lot more if this Pujols deal happens. Maybe Marlins attendance numbers will finally exceed the local high schools! ;)

Or Mike Stanton. I would see him play every chance I get if I could.

No, he counts...but nowhere near a Pujols caliber.
you're talking a guy who had a good year vs. a HOFer and maybe the best baseball player in the last decade. Apples and oranges.

If you're saying it takes solely a hall of famer to be on your squad to make a difference then that stadium/team is fucked.
