I've often wondered what this poster is supposed to represent. With all of the poster activity on here today I thought this may be a good time to see if anyone could shed any light on it for me?

I know it's not their best poster but this was the only time they've ever played in Wales so there is something special about it for me
“Do not postpone happiness”
(Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
(Tim Rogers)

I've never understood what the hell that poster is supposed to represent... I wonder if any explanation shows up in the Ames vs. Pearl Jam book???

  • I went to the two Wembley Arena shows and got this poster there.

It took a while to see it but I decided it was a stylised picture of Great Britain.
  • It's IRELAND and the UK.

Off Topic despite the fact that I was at the two Wembley shows and the Cardiff show covered by that poster but is there not a hint of handball in your avatar Sir?

Disappointing to see someone with such fine taste in music have absolutely no taste when in comes to sportsmen/cheats! ;)

I always thought it was a graphic representation of Britain and Ireland too.
This part if the world never really got great posters until BK came along and worked his magic on the Dublin 2010 poster:)
  • It's IRELAND and the UK.

It's not on my wall at the moment so I didn't realise it covered the Irish date too. I thought the blue area on the left was supposed to be Wales with the green below being South West England.

    I see it now!

 I had to get it too. Manchester, 2000 was my first concert. Good thing it's ugly, I was able to get it pretty painlessly without it costing me an arm and a leg.

  • I quite like it!

Great memories of seeing the band three times in about a week probably make me a little biased though.

Wembley '96 - now there's an ugly poster!

I like the 2000 poster and the actual colours are nicer than it looks in the photos on expressobeans ... or at least I think so :P
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Glasgow 2000 was my first Pearl Jam show! - and managed to get myself one of these posters a few months ago.

In the Ames book, Jeff talks about the 2000 European Tour "Astronaut" poster (which was the poster prior to this one) continuing with the Binaural space theme, so I guess this is just along those lines...???
