Dogfish Head Faithfull Ale Reviews
This is not the typical Dogfish Head beer. It is much more accessible to someone who does not drink a lot of craft beer. At 20 IBUs and 7% alcohol, it tastes light and crisp compared to other Dogfish Head beers too. It reminds me of their Red and White beer, but with less alcohol and more of a beer taste, than a wine taste. It is a Belgian beer, but it unlike most Belgians that I have had because of the "winey" taste.
I was happy with this beer and would love to be able to find a few bottles of it (I probably would have wanted one for the label alone). I think beer enthusiasts will be happy that the currants are noticeably there, but not overpowering at all. People who usually stick to the main beer companies will probably like this as well. It will be obvious to them that the alcohol content is higher, but the beer is not overwhelming at only 7%.
This was a very accessible beer and one that Dogfish did a really good job on. It is not one of my favorite beers (or even Dogfish for that matter) only because I am a hophead and a fan of the higher alcohol content brews. I will give this beer a B+ and suggest you find a bottle.
Edit: And here's my story of tasting the beer. I have been a big fan of Dogfish Head for years and obviously a big Pearl Jam fan too. Last night I went to an event in NYC where the founder of the company was going to tap Faithfull Ale at 6:30. I got there at 6 and was trying to maneuver myself towards the front of the extremely crowded bar. I saw them tap the beer and quickly asked the bartender for two of them and the crowd went crazy as they realized I was being served the first two of the night. Later in the night I ordered two more, and we kicked the keg too
. I told Sam Calagione (the founder) about this and he said that it was karma and he was happy to hear I had a great time. Then he gave me a DFH shark keychain. It was a pretty cool Wednesday night.

On my way now!!! Where to go is the question??? Head 15 minutes south to the restaurant or 15 minutes north to the Brewery??? I think I'm going to Rehoboth to the restaurant so i can have a couple on tap and buy two to take home for tonight.
I didn't know it was on tap at the restaurant but if it is, go for it!!! Enjoy!
And post a review

I am waiting on two bottles that were purchased directly from the DFH brewery yesterday. Funny enough, the deacon who married my wife and I moved to DE a few years ago. He lives 10 minutes from the brewery and has become a big DFH fan. He is shipping two bottles to me in Boston, which I hope to receive by Monday. I will post a review then.
Robert Johnson's Hellhound Ale is great too.
