Anyone think that there could have been talks about adding Dave Grohl as PJ's drummer after Dave A was fired? I know Jack was friends with everybody and they asked him in 1990, and he introduced Eddie blah blah blah, but Grohl and Novaselic were cool with the boys, and given to the timing, it could have happened. Dave was probly recording the first Foo's album at the time, though. But he did guest appear when they were both touring in Australia in 95, and again, they were cool with each other. I think Dave would have been awesome with this band, although I love the Foo Fighters and wouldnt want them to not be around.

There was, but Dave wanted to concentrate on Foo Fighters at the time (the majority of the album was written and recorded prior to Nirvana's demise). Most of the early demos were recorded with Barrett Jones (he's done some sound here and there for PJ, and Brad, toured with brad a few years back, etc)...there's a big musical connection.

A name that doesn't frequently come up as someone who was considered for the PJ job - Josh Freese - but his studio career/scheduling/Vandal's schedule was all conflicting.

Dave G seemed content on setting forth on his own afte
"Honesty will always be construed as negative to a dumbass"
    :-)
  • Dave had already turned down Tom Petty to be the Heartbreakers drummer.
