This is my first time attending Bridge school, and we are staying in the Fisherman's Wharf area of SF. We were thinking of not renting a car and just taking a taxi to the show, but we weren't sure how easy it would be to get a taxi when leaving. Anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks!
I'm Eric.

Getting dropped off is no problem.

It will take hours to get a cab after the show and you will be miserable and pissed off. There is no dedicated taxi line or anything and the cabs don't even pull up into the venue after the show. I've done it twice (stayed at a local hotel) and it was a nightmare. If a cab does happen to get close, 10 groups of people will fight over it and the group with the most people always wins. It's a total nightmare!
  • When I was stationed at Castle AFB, which was close to Merced I went to a lot of shows at the Shoreline. I would drive up and stay in Santa Clara, which was pretty close. I would drive to Shoreline so I didn't have to mess with taxis. I think that is your best bet.

Yeah, definitely don't go the taxi route. A taxi from San Fran will cost you a fortune. I've been to Bridge three times and I don't think I've ever seen a taxi near the venue.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

Sorry to say but yeah I agree with everybody. DON'T take the taxi! Plus from san fran to mt view would be a pretty penny to have to pay for the fare. I grew up 20 mins from shoreline and so I have been there a millions times. I would say your best bet is to try to stay more local to mt view. Santa Clara is good!

This will be my 3rd Bridge School Benefit. Rent a car! You will be sorry if you go the taxi route

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. We already have our room booked so I will now be renting a car. Appreciated!
