I'm pretty sure there's been other threads about this + heaps on the facebook groups. 1st BDO announcement on Tuesday I think. The guys are rumoured every few years or so apparently so wouldn't count on it yet.

Yeah I expect em out here around November, as has been the last 2 tours here in 06 + 09 .. So it does seem strange to me that they would come all the way out here in January for the BDO .. Stranger things have happened though lol

Personally I'm really hoping they don't do the BDO but I'd expect they will tour at least Oz next year maybe post new album. They bloody better & bloody should come to NZ EVERY time they go to Oz of course but we'll see I guess.

Why would they do the BDO when they can get more money doing a headlining stadium tour like last time?
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!

depends how much money is thrown at them for half a dozen 100min sets i guess.
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

Thats what I said to myself to Hinn .. Didnt make sense come all the way here in middle of tour for a week if that .. Now after Mikee J's post, well it wouldnt surprise me, considering how close those 2 bands are .. Guess will have to wait until Tuesdays announcments then

If Soundgarden are definite now(?) does that mean PJ will definitely not? Matt can't do 2 sets in one day surely, mind you they aren't full length sets I suppose. Anyway jeez I hope they don't. Definitely want a full blown tour not stupid BDO sets. JMHO.

  • From Adelaide Now...

ADELAIDE can look forward to the announcement of more than 150 artists for upcoming summer festivals.
From the Big Day Out to Future Music Festival, the 2011-12 summer will be jam-packed with some of the world's hottest acts.

With the imminent announcements, rumours have been flying thick and fast, particularly for the Big Day Out which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year.

Veteran rock band Pearl Jam is hotly tipped to headline the event alongside UK rock act Kasabian.

...so I guess bad news of playing BDO is beaten overwhelmingly by the good news of them touring at all... :D

If you are going to spend the money to come down under wait till they do a proper tour
Bdo i full of 16 year old drunk girls who know one song of every band and will ruin it for everyone
Lets not get started on the drunk assholes who have no problem punching and inappropriately groaping of females
The more I hear this rumor the angrier I get
makes much more sense to live in the present tense
  • Ok so the herald sun music journalist was on Triple M this morning and he has said that PJ wont be headlining the BDO next year due to concerns that the band has.. (not sure what concerns.. So) anyway Radiohead will be the headlining act instead..

Dont get me wrong I would have gone in a heartbeat had PJ been headlining.. But im so glad that they aren't.. Having to deal with drunken morons and teenyboppers is not my idea of fun....

The official Big Day Out Facebook page already confirmed that the headliner's name does not begin with R, so that counts out Radiohead.

This rumour's still got legs until the official announcement as far as I'm concerned.
  • The jock on MMM just re-iterated the rumour of PJ & Radiohead headlining BDO - we'll find out later in the week.
