I know it depends mostly on one's mood, but I wanna know what kind of songs you consider Pearl Jam's best.
It's hard for me to choose, but I personally think that they're great at doing the midtempo stuff, like Given to fly.

If you're talking live in 2011, slow and mid-tempo are the answers.
Come to think of it, that's probably the right answer even in regards to studio tracks. Given to Fly is a good example.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0

hard and fast. (although a couple of my favs are Black, Indifference, and Immortality which are on the slower side)We were but stones your light made us stars0

Ed can't always sing the hard/fast ones anymore. The slow/midtempo ones are right in his wheelhouse.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0

The fast ones are always the most fun for me to hear live. Some songs that I never mind seeing/hearing live would be: Severed Hand, Lukin, God's Dice, Glorified G, Breakerfall, Leash, Go, Blood.0
-
The way they play songs live these days all songs are fast paced0
-
all songs do it for meStab it down, fill the pages, suck my fuckin' life out, man0
-
Hard and rocking ones like Hail, Hail and All Night are the best IMO. They don't just pummel you, they speed up, slow down, drop it down a notch, then slam it forward. That's the type of songs I like.-PUSH ME AND I WILL RESIST!0

Why have they upped the tempo so much when playing live nowadays? I much preferred it when they played most of their songs at the right tempo...some songs really lose their gravitas when they're played fast, like unthought known.
I wish the Pearl Jam live act pre-2000 would come back....can anyone remember the year they changed the tempo when playing live?
regarding the question of the thread, it depends on my mood....they have such a rich back catalogue, i would have given my left testicle to have written any of them (excluding bugs)0

I like the hard rockin tunes myself. Leash, Blood, Whipping, Spin the Black Circle, Save You...followed by midtempo. I enjoy pretty much everything they do, but if you're asking, I like fast and loud the best.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
