Pearl Jam fan fell off hotel balcony in TO

I heard this news just a few minutes ago, as I received a call from home. The guy was from my hometown, and supposedly loved Pearl Jam. This was the reason he travelled to Toronto from my hometown in New Brunswick Some of my family and friends knew him, unfortunately I did not (as I'm sure we woulda had many a Pearl Jam discussion). Thoughts are with our jamily member's family and friends right now.

    N.B. man dies after fall from Toronto hotel balcony

    A 31-year-old New Brunswick man died in hospital after falling from a downtown hotel balcony early Tuesday morning.

    Toronto police confirmed the man fell from a balcony at the Delta Chelsea hotel on Gerrard Street West, near Yonge Street, shortly after midnight.

    His death is being treated as a "death by misadventure" and no foul play is suspected.

    Police say the man was intoxicated at the time of the accident. His name has not been released.

    Yeah, I'm from Saint John and now live in Fredericton; sad to hear about anyone dying, let alone someone from your community and the PJ community. My thoughts and condolences to the family.

    Also, no idea why it was locked. I do realize that the PJ fan who set up the group rate worked at the Chelsea hotel...and there was talk of the balcony several days with respect to pop exploding and such. Maybe some link.

    This is terribly sad regardless where he is from, but it definitely strikes hard knowing he is from my hometown. My thoughts go out to his friends and family during this difficult time. Amazing how fast life can change.
