This was far and away the highlight of PJ20 for me. All the other songs were great too and I'm happy to have have bore witness to the Temple of the Dog reunion. But it was such a cool deviation from the norm to bring out guests to sing PEARL JAM songs and not cover songs. Finn especially impressed me with his intensity....though he looked a bit like Charlie from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" from where I was sitting.

I agree. Habit is one of my favorite PJ songs and this version blew my fucking mind. Liam Finn is so cool. Both him and Glen Hansard kicked ass during the day too. Smile with Glen at night...left me speechless. Just awesome. Oh and anything with Josh Homme is special for me. Kyuss and PJ have basically been my two favorite
bands for the past 20 yrs.

Agreed, these were great moments. And it all worked - that's not always the case with that kind of thing.

Where's "Who You Are"?!?!!! That was amazing!! They didn't just play it to play it, they nailed it!!!

This is easily the greatest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

Pearl Jam w/ Homme is Magic 8-)

Habit with Finn was off the charts awesome.

Casablancas on Red Mosquito completely ruined the song IMO. Love Casablancas, but his voice was like oil and water to that song.

I think I agree with this...

I was just so ecstatic at the time to be finally hearing Red Mosquito that I didn't notice as much (I did a little but didn't care)... but you're absolutely right... Casablancas did not do that song any favors.

Oh well... RM... still crossed off my list!

Eh...it wasn't the best...but it's nice to have different versions of any song. And for me personally, I'll take it over Ben Harper and his slide-guitar.

  • Casablancas was an embarrassment. He ruined not for you and knew it. You could tell he didn't even want to sing rm. He can't sing in tune and his levels were too strong. He was the lowlight of both shows IMO.
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

Can't really blame him too much -- The Strokes are just not a harmonizing band. Julian does all the singing, there are really no backup vocals from the band. So this was kind of new territory for him. But damn Juicebox sounded FANTASTIC with Ed!! I will agree that Red Mosquito sounded weird at first, I think JC was trying to do some weird voice. But the end of the song sounded amazing to me, especially with Ed singing the other lyrics over Julian's lines.
