The "Limit 2 poster per person" petition!?!
So... after reading all the horror stories about the posters at PJ20, is it possible we can get a poster purchasing limit for future Canadian dates? Say 2 per person until after PJ takes the stage, after which people can have at it... does this sound reasonable to anyone else?
I'm going to have to go inside the moment the door opens to get all my Canadian posters... but that doesn't mean we shounld petition 10C to help stop this deuchbaggery, right?
Sign up below if you agree... I'll update this post as the talley increases... maybe 10C will take a hint...
I thought I remembered a 2 poster per person limit at my 2010 shows last year, am I imagining this? And I don't remember any merch stands having any left at the end of the night...
anyway I'll be number 1!
2 poster per person limit!

Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

it's a good thought in theory, but unless the band is having their own people work the merch booths this probably would not happen0

Why don't you ask the artists what they want before you start limiting their ability to possibly make a buck...
I get the idea of limiting to prevent the e-bay flippers, but the artists should have a say!9.29.96, 8.28.98, 9.1.00, 7.5.03, 9.30.05, 6.1.06, 6.19.08, 6.20.08, 6.24.08, 10.27.09, 10.28.09, 10.30.09, 5.20.10, 9.3.11, 9.4.11, 9.2.12, 7.19.13...

im with you on the limit, but theres no stopping people from buying more than 2 posters at shows. at PJ20, there were seven merchant stands and there's no way to keep track of everyone at one stand let alone 7 stands. the limit would give them another hoop to jump through, but it wouldn't stop them from buying as many as they want.0

Or....
Show a poster on the wall. Make it available for sale, but they mail it to you a few days later. They print the number of posters purchased. Everyone gets their poster... and no one needs to guard their poster tube the whole night. Win, win.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

I did this at the Ames booth on Sunday, it was definitely a win, win for me since I didn't have to carry it around all day.
I'm not sure how they would go about enforcing this limit but its a great idea and should be explored.0 -
I agree. Either a 2 or 3 poster limit per person.0

not for nothing but havent they been doing the 2 poster limit thing ????
like I said before what stopping someone from buying two at one table then walking to another and buying another two.....

This sounds like the best most sophisticated win win win situation
they should do it
i don't get why they aren't doing this already0 -

AND... it means they don't have to travel with those huge, heavy boxes of posters.
Win for tour profits
Win for tour staff
Win for fans
...and will they do it? Of course not.

Why not make it a limit of 1 ? I dont see the need for multiple posters (other than selling for profit). I like the idea regardless

agreed....Why two instead of one?0

Agreed but the merch lines were very long at times so it wasn't like some of these people could walk right up and buy and run at multiple merch booths. Like I said before, I'm not sure if there is a way to enforce this but any limit would at least help out I believe.0 -

...or increasing inventory to meet demand, which can be done simply by printing as many as they sell.
The limited quantity is the root of this issue. Remove that, and it makes it available to 100% of the people who want it, and it also removes the incentive for flippers to buy, as well is a convenience for those fans not wanting to tote a tube around. I don't see any negatives with selling all you can, printing all you can, then shipping.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

Nobody NEEDS 2 unless they are planning on selling 1. Whether they sell it on ebay now or some other method in 20 years or more.AskPearlJam: PearlJama101-guest says: Who's idea was it for Eddie to play banjo on "Soon Forget"?

Incorrect. People buy posters for friends all the time and don't scalp them.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.
