It sucks that you poster got stolen but I am sure that you will be able to get a replacement either from someone on the boards or from the secondary market.
I would just wait a few weeks if you need to buy one above face value. I think prices on these will come down.0 -
Thanks. I hope so. I should be getting at least one and hopefully both of them back from board members.PJ-Cubs wrote:It sucks that you poster got stolen but I am sure that you will be able to get a replacement either from someone on the boards or from the secondary market.

That must have been really annoying that somebody stole your posters!
I wonder if next time you could take a big sharpie in with you (or something else to "personalise" the poster tube to draw or write all over the tube), so it would at least be identifiable if somebody was game enough to pinch it.PJ: Sydney, 11th February 2003 ♥ Sydney, 26th January 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 20th March 2011 ♥ EV: Perth, 7th February 2014 ♥ EV: Perth, 8th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 11th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 12th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 13th February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 22nd February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 23rd February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 25th February 2014 ♥

Come on, that is a terribly elitist attitude and very, very cynical way of looking at it.
Fact of the matter is: Beer + lots of people = guaranteed meatheads... Doesnt matter if its a backstreet boys concert, an NFL game, a Slayer concert or a Pearl Jam concert, it is just the reality of a large event. So, to use that as some kind of excuse for why you did not go (even though you could "afford it") is kinda shallow and just comes across as incredibly elitist.
Just my experience.
If wanting to enjoy a show with other die-hard fans without having to worry about someone barfing, passing out on or stealing my stuff (including trying to steal my seat at one PJ show) is elitist, then I guess I'm an elitist. I go to many concerts and festivals every year, from Sasquatch to Vedder solo this year, and I can honestly say that the PJ crowds have become the most asinine -- for me. The last three out of four PJ shows have been absolutely ruined by this type of behavior. I hate to say it. You make it sound like this just started happening, and you (one of the die-hard fans apparently) can't enjoy shows anymore because of the Johnny Come Lately's. Maybe it's not elitist (though it kind of sounds that way), but I think it's sort of revisionist history. As if in the old days we all just held hands, enjoyed the concert, and nothing bad ever happened, then these damn kids these days started ruining everything. There have been douchebags at every PJ concert I've been to since I joined 10C in '96, it's nothing new. And just because I think they're douchebags, doesn't make me a better or more die-hard fan than them. It's a concert, people drink, people get excited, shit happens."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
Actually, the "kids" acting like stupid fucks usually look to be in their 30's or 40's.
So, theft happens?
Let's just say my wife usually goes to most concerts with me. She'll go to Arcade Fire, U2, My Morning Jacket, The National, Neil Young, Modest Moudes, Black Keys, etc., but refuses to attend PJ shows any longer after some of the junk she's experienced.
She did come along for Eddie Vedder at the Schnitz in Portland. Great experience, great venue.
Again, just my experience. My Pearl Jam Road: 10/22/90 Seattle | 12/22/90 Seattle, Moore Theater | 9/29/92 Seattle, Magnusson Park, Drop in the Park | 9/5/93 The Gorge, with Neil Young and Blind Melon | 7/20/06 Portland, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall with Sleater-Kinney | 7/22/06 The Gorge, 10/21/06 Mountain View, Shoreline Ampitheatre, Bridge School Benefit | 9/21/09 Seattle | 9/22/09 Seattle | 9/26/09 Portland, OR | 7/14/2011 Eddie Vedder, Portland, OR | 11/29/13 Portland, OR0 -

Kurt Cobain famously said that one of the hardest things about Nirvana's sudden fame was seeing the same kind of guys who used to bully him in high school rocking out at the shows. Even though Pearl Jam (and Nirvana) are/were thoughtful and sensitive guys, there is a cohort of rock fans who hear loud guitars and don't really focus on the deeper meaning or themes in the music. There are a lot of these guys around. They haven't bought a Pearl Jam album since "Vs.," or maybe "Vitalogy," but they will still turn out when the band comes to town so they can booze it up and take out their aggression via antisocial behavior. As long as there is rock music, there are going to be these guys. You just have to hope you don't end up sitting next to, in front of or behind one.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0

pj so needs to sell posters on the internet again through this site for shows people have tickets to, it would save the whole hassle of watching over a poster at shows, thank god all the shows now in usa are seating, or else it be a real bitch to hold a poster for 2 hours in the middle of a mosh pit. they did this for la 2009 i went to sold online for shows they should do it again, and save people having to buy at venue, it kindof annoying to watch a poster all night but they all collectors. i saw 1 from like europe 94 tour sell on ebay for $1500, is there really this big time collectors out there these posters are worth this much? if so when pj retires they probably gonna go up in value?:0

+1...I've been to 11 shows in 11 years and around 40 shows from other bands in that same time frame and the crowd at almost every show has been pretty well the same. Sure some real douchers have stuck out at particular shows, but walking around and observing people there seems to be a standard level of schmuckiness whether it's 1500 people or 40000 people.
one of the lamest crowds i saw in a long time shockingly was foo fighters a few years ago in vegas, that show was cool, but hte crowd was fuckin lame and seemed like fuckin teeny boppers that didnt know any of the old songs off the first 2 records in the 90s. then i smoke a blunt, and most the people around me are scared of the weed, like what the hell is this a rok show or what. but of course there was a bunch of drunk fucks too, but hey its vegas0 -

Yep assholes in every bunch. In fact, I'd even say that I trust 10C members LESS than "regular folk" until I see how they act and they prove themselves. Some 10C members are just plain assholes.hippiemom = goodness0 -
I met some great people, but unfortunately the bad apple ruined the bunch for me this show. Maybe next show my experience will be different, but we will see.
