This is the first I'm hearing about the seating areas not being open until 3:00pm.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Not having the lawn and pavillion open until 3pm is absurd. This needs to be asked on AET this week.

Yeah, that is pretty weird. I'm pretty sure they said there will be no new episode of AET this week.
  • It actually itsn't absurb.. Think of how much addiontal staff Alpine would have to pay for 4+ extra hours. There is no need to sit in the pavillion from Noon to 6. There will be plenty of other things to do.

I guess people will always find something to bitch about.. Going to be an amazing weekend and I'm thankful the band is putting this together.

AV is not allowing access to the entire lawn, or just the fenced off 10c viewing area? Hard to imagine them being able to shut off total lawn access.

    Anyone know?

I emailed Alpine Valley, and they confirmed the ENTIRE lawn will be closed until 3:00pm.

    Same goes for the pavillion.

No AET this week, per an announcement on last week's show.

What do you want to do on the lawn until 3? There's nothing.

Go watch the other bands at the top of the hill. Go rifle through the PJ museum. If you have Expo passes, go check that out. Or stay in the parking lot and tailgate until 3.

Really, there's no reason to enter the venue at all before 3, unless you want to watch the early bands. And the early bands will not be viewable from the lawn.

I don't see the appeal of standing around on a lawn at 10 a.m., staring at an empty stage that won't have bands on it until 6. Maybe that's just me.
