Forgive me if this has already been done but with 20 years upon us I wanted to ask what's your favorite 5 year run for the band? Mine would have to be '95-'00. Three amazing records and my first time seeing them live (Phoenix 2000). What say you?

Well every five years have been filled with great music...
each better than the previous ... soundtrack to life
best time to enjoy though was 2003 through 2008
lots of great travel and shows and those were our hayday years
BUT
the best year was 2009... it was a horribly tough year physically and emotionally
but Philly Halloween night made it wonderful! A memory of a lifetime

For many reasons, 2011 is far and away the best single year for me, so I'm going to have to go with the past five years.0

I would have to say 2006-2011, as well. Granted, most of my favorite PJ LPs came during the mid-90s (Vitalogy, No Code, Yield) but the band just seems to be enjoying themselves so much more now, and I think that translates well in a live show.
I saw them in 2003 and there wasn't that sense of "Holy Shit, this is the best job ever!" vibe. Now, you pick up on that with every show. Cheers!0 -
From an albums-only perspective, here are two incredibly strong 5-year stretches:
August 27, 1991 (Ten released) - August 27, 1996 (No Code)
-or-
October 19, 1993 (Vs.) - February 3, 1998 (Yield)
That 1993-98 stretch wins for me (by a nose).0 -
1995 - 2000Another habit says it's in love with you
Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self0 -
I saw them for the first time at the cameo theater in Miami Beach in 92
I had no never heard of them but followed my girlfriend to the show
Since then I have seen them a scant 8 times with the most recent in Boston in 2006...
I have over 100 bootleg cd's and all studio / live albums
While their story is remarkable, inspiring and educational - I can't help but think:
the next five years are the best
