Poster Tubes Can NOT Be Brought Into PJ20

I asked Alpine Valley on Facebook yesterday if I could bring in a poster tube and they said that we could but now they just sent me this message:

SORRY BRANDON - you cannot bring in poster tubes. You can pick one up inside. Sorry again for this change.

    looks like having extra lawn tickets will at least let me in to the venue, grab a poster, drop it off in the car and burn a ticket to get back in...

    you'd think with this shabang being 2 weeks away they could give us a fucking clue on what is going on withthe posters

    Let me guess....you can buy one separately for 17 dollars? I've never gotten into the whole poster thing, and wanted to get one as this is a "special event"- I think at this point I'll save myself the hassle.

    Just buy one on the website. Who wants to carry a poster around all day? Especially if you are in the lawn. Gotta hold on to the thing for 5 hours.

    Im doing the same thing with my extra lawn tix. Get in early, grab merch, then use my reserved seat to re-enter.

    I'd probably do the same as you if I had an extra, but it is strange that we (me included) get so hung up on merchandise at a rock concert.

    The merch is your connection to the memory ... every time you look at the poster, pull on the tee shirt, or whip out your car keys (still my fav merch item, the key chain), your synapses fire up with all that concert goodness!

    And what could be more fun than buying a poster at the first possible moment so you have every possible moment to agonize over its care and feeding! Make sure it gets a few nice crumples, maybe even a small tear, lots of fingerprints, soaks up a bit of beer, really absorbs some of the ambiance of the moment!

    Then get a new from 10C or the artist afterwards.

    Few shows back, I got a neat poster at a show and they didn't have tubes or rubber bands -- just a full plastic sleeve, like a poster condom, that held the poster safely. I take that to shows now! Probably find one at a local poster shop, music store or somewhere....

    I believe on the radio show they were thinking of offering a mailing service but could be wrong. Next week the radio show will be answer questions on PJ20.

    Alpine Valley's facebook now says that there will be a merch stand outside the venue.
