I guess it depends on your definition of gluten free, and if it stems from a medical need or philosophical decision

Sake is usually made from rice, but I suppose it could be made from something else. I know firsthand it goes well with sushi

Spent some time on Google and Wikipedia (my addictions :ugeek:) and discovered the following:

"corn, rice and sorghum also have gluten proteins but are not toxic to celiacs"

That second page has a long list of gluten-free adult beverages

Sounds like anything fermented from non-grain sugars would be gluten-free (Tequila from agave, potato vodka, rum from sugar, wine, honey meed, etc.) Again, I don't have any previous knowledge on this subject I just enjoy researching stuff.
