    Yeah, I don't think this played a part at all. Personally I think Obama won because people were pissed off about the government and he represented that "change" he talked so much about. He was well spoken and people thought that he would work with both sides in Washington and make progress.

    Well, he certainly hasn't done that very well. So, there is very little for these people left to like about BO. And it pisses me off that his election has re-energized the religious right and social conservatives in a time when the GOP needs to get government out of the way across the board, socially and fiscally. I don't understand why a candidate that doesn't care who marries who and also wants the government to spend less money and actually balance a budget is so hard to find.

    To be honest... it's because the huge corporations WANT us to bicker about social issues so we forget the boring taxation and labour stuff.

    They want us arguing about abortion and gay marriage so they can pass more laws to help corporations screw over the general public. You'd think with all the blatant abuses in the mortgage industry, that would be a huge campaign issue right now. But instead we're arguing about wether Ernie and Bert are lovers or just roommates.

    That's a part of it. I think many liberals (not all) feel a real sense of guilt because they have had opportunities that we are taught they had only because they are white. Affirmative action is a plan that solidifies this idea as a reality. It must be true if we have a government program to combat it, right?

    To disagree with that, is to deny the existance of racism. And we know racism exists, because people disagree with Obama's policies. Right?

    College educated women and blacks, were among Obama's biggest supporters in the election. You can look it up.
