With all the rioting going on all over the world do you think people will ever riot here? I really don't think so. I think people in the States know nothing about whats going on. Americans are to wraped up in their own social lives or everyones elses business that they have no idea of what is going on. We have no one to blame but ourselves as these politians have had a free for all for decades.

i remember the black out a couple of years ago on the eastern seaboard, i got stuck in manhattan for the night, spend it sleeping on a sidewalk near grand central, kind of scary but it turned out there was no need to worry, maybe we were all still polarized from 9/11, i don't know but i was very proud of the way this city conducted it's self.0

Depends on if you are basing it on social unrest with the government, or a single issue like a police shooting or losing game seven of the Stanley Cup finals.shadowcast wrote:With all the rioting going on all over the world do you think people will ever riot here? As much as everyone complains about America, I think the majority of us still love America and believe in it.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
Sure, we could riot. We're surrounded by a lot of depressing messages from our neighbors, friends, media, politicians, store owners . . . Maybe there is enough empathy shown to those that are struggling that they won't throw the first stone? I don't know about that . . . that would be a lot of empathy. What do we have to look forward to?
We've riot before. My guess is Detroit. Detroit is hit pretty hard, but maybe enough people are showing empathy to the people of Detroit that it won't get this far . . . (?)
It could happen easy. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

But wasn't that one day? I would like to see a blackout for 72 hours.BinauralJam wrote:i remember the black out a couple of years ago on the eastern seaboard, i got stuck in manhattan for the night, spend it sleeping on a sidewalk near grand central, kind of scary but it turned out there was no need to worry, maybe we were all still polarized from 9/11, i don't know but i was very proud of the way this city conducted it's self.0 -
I agree it's because you all were still in shock from 9/11 that the will to create more angst wasn't in you. It surprised me as well how few incidents there were during that black out time.BinauralJam wrote:i remember the black out a couple of years ago on the eastern seaboard, i got stuck in manhattan for the night, spend it sleeping on a sidewalk near grand central, kind of scary but it turned out there was no need to worry, maybe we were all still polarized from 9/11, i don't know but i was very proud of the way this city conducted it's self. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. Sure we have issues and riots are always possible. However if you totally ban cable news from your life and actually interact with people, it turns out America isn't so bad after all.0
