These are the folks that organised the distributions of the Foos documentary and they are supposed to be doing PJ20 as well as they were mentioned in the initial press release for PJ20. I've subscribed to their mailing list. May be worth you doing as they should hopefully send out a list of cinemas showing it.

    Thank you for contacting Cineworld.

We will not be showing Pearl Jam Twenty as the DVD is released only a week after the cinema release date.

Pippa, you're not coming to Riverside, if and when they confirm it on their site?

I'm not sure. I promised to see it with the person I went to my first show with. I'll suggest Riverside but they may want to see it somewhere closer to us.

I don't know if anybody else has already done it but I've emailed the Printworks in Manchester to ask if they're showing the movie. They showed Immagine In Cornice so it's worth asking.

It's just been done out a couple of years ago - has had huge investment through fundraising and is actually a very very nice cinema! It's now up to 3.5 (one small digital room) screens.

Sorry tremors - that means it's no longer an 'adult' cinema so no need to rush back! ;)

The cinema is in the back left hand corner. ;)

Seriously though, I've been trying to get an email address off the internet for them - so far I can't find one :? . Guess I'll have to go down and ask them.

I also have just done this online form for the Vue cinema in Carlisle. Hopefully I'll get a response from that.

Seem to remember it showing some decent indie movies in the early 90s! Glad to hear they are still going.

I emailed Manchester Odeon/Printworks cinema yesterday to ask about PJ20. Here is what they said:

    "Dear Ross,
The Pearl Jam Twenty documentary will be released across the cinemas from the 20th September".

So, that was sorta informative but didn't specify if this particular cinema would be showing it. I emailed back asking if they would definitely be showing it, and here's what they said:

"Unfortunately we are only able to confirm showing times on a week-by-week basis and wil only have a confirmed list of films/times after 6pm on the Tuesday before your visit. We understand that this is not convenient when trying to arrange a visit from the cinema, however we are not told the details of the films available from the film companies until late Monday afternoon."

That's pretty much it. So it sounds very likely they'll be screening it but it's not confirmed.

I got a similar response from them. It seems most UK cinemas don't know their schedules until a week before. Kinda annoying, I just want to sort it out and get it booked up.

  • I got a similar response from Cineworld.
They told me that I can check "the band's website and the website specifically designated for the film" for updated information...something like pearljam.com and pj20.com?
yeah because I didn't do that already.
And then they were like the cinema screening list gets updated every tuesday for the next week after the people meet to arrange what films are going to be shown and stuff - so basically we won't know until then.
No clue as to whether they are showing it or not though....which is a shame

It wasn't Belmont after all! Vue is good though, I saw Foo Fighter's Back & Forth there a few months ago. The sound is VERY loud though... Which is a good thing of course!

By the way, I haven't missed something, have I?...PJ20 isn't in 3D, is it?? You can only buy 3D tickets. Maybe just so the cost is slightly higher to justify showing it? :?:
