Spinning this for the first time in at least 10 years, truly was amazing at the time. Any other fans of PE, Chuck D and Flav?

saw them for the 20th anniversary of this album last year. They played the first 8 songs of the album in order. It was fuckin sweet.
I remember when the 90's ended Spin put out a list of the most influential albums of the decade, this was 2nd to Nevermind and for good reason.
Chuck has one of the best voices ever in rap, and you just have to listen to it. It held urgency and you felt like he was saying something important.
"Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant shit to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
Simple and plain
Mother fuck him and John Wayne
Cause I'm Black and I'm proud"
Welcome to the Terrordome is in the top 10 rap songs ever! It has to be, it is just bangin. Really give it a listen Everyone!

Now we're talking. HUGE PE fan here. I love Apocalypse 91. Got suspended in high school for rapping By the time I get to arizona at a talent show.
Nobody can rap like Chuck with that baritone.0 -
Oh Yes!
Chuck D was also in an early metal band called Confrontation Camp. I believe it was around the time of "bring the noise" with Anthrax. I dont have the tape anymore but remember it as early hard core metal with rap infused. It was awesome and totally before its time.
Maybe Chuck can replace that jerk Joe Buck and broadcast the SuperBowl. He's got the Voice.
Time to go listen....0 -
Great album.
And I'll never forget the first time I ever saw/heard them. They did "Rebel without a Pause" on Soul Train and freaked Don Cornelius the fuck out.0 -
