Very cool idea. Metallica also tours EVERYWHERE, which PJ quit doing years ago.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Metallica is too big to do a small show like that. Do you know how many people on this board would complain if pj20 was held in a small venue?

That's cause PJ fans can be whiny little bitches.
so true. fans are bitching bout the 10c selling the pj20 book and soundtrack a bit higher than amazon.com.

They could have picked a bigger place, but $20 for 4 shows? That's ridiculous. Also if you can't make those shows it isn't as if you can't catch them at one of the 100s of others they play every year when PJ basically refuses to do a real tour. So yeah, I think it does. PJ could have charged 1991 prices for PJ20 but they chose not to. Yes, I know it is a festival with lots of other bands so that is more expensive, but honestly I could care less about those other bands and they could have just done it themselves.

My other fav band, The Black Crowes, chose to celebrate their 20th year by doing a double acoustic CD and playing 75+ shows to celebrate.

PJ decides to do a movie, which is an awesome idea, and then throw a shin dig in the middle of cow country.

And go Cowboys. You know I can't argue with you! :D

I'm wonder if the special guest would be dave mastain coming on to play the four horsemen and even jason newstead coming on to play some songs.
and i was trying to remember who it was that steppen in for james when he broke his arm or burned himself, i'm pretty sure it was some dude from metal church (anyone?) got it, john marshall

who would be good special guest so far i can only think of exodus for the kirk connection.

    anybody any other thoughts/wishes.

oh man thinking about this soooo makes me wish i could go.

I'd like to add that Metallica is doing the celebration in the town that made them big thus repaying the fans that helped them get as big as they are.

You mean a cash grab like releasing a solo LP/DVD/Songbook, charging $75-$150 per ticket, and making a movie?

This is pretty cool. For a band that's kinda gone corporate, this is great. The only beef I have is that they should sell them for $19.81 per show...not to make more money, but so as to see these limited number of tickets to more fans.

Pearl Jam's is nice because anyone that can make it there can go...This one is nice because of the intimacy.

Can't wait to see the scalper prices.

can't image that there would be scalpers, considering its fan club only, and the capacity of the venue, i mean if you were in the metclub, and scored tickets, why would you not want to go to all 4. but i guess these guys always seem to find a way
