How to check if the item/poster is original?

Hi
i was bidding on a Australia 2006 poster on ebay,i didn't win the auction but... received a second chance offer with the message that the seller just got more posters. Well, sounds strange. Or maybe it's just me?
Yeah, anyway,my question is how to check if the poster is an original one,not the fake copy? I'll be grateful for any ideas. The second chance offer expires on 29th of July so I have couple of days to find out.
Thanks :)

Which poster and how much is the offer? I have a few that I can guarantee are genuine.

Otherwise, these 06 copies weren't that rare so it's possible they have multiple copies. If you get it and it's one of the ones I have, i'm happy to take a look at photos and let you know who authentic it looks. Remember, these ones were not screenprints.

If you received a second chance offer . it sounds like someone shill bidder you . More then likely the seller has two accounts and was raising your bid . and you dropped off .

or they had more then one poster .

this angers me to no end... i bid on that uk angel, eff me in the brain alive live 7 inch single a few mnths back... some seller frm norway...my final bid was shot down at the last second... not even two hrs later i get a second chance offer email frm the seller stating that the orig buyer backed out... after only two hrs??? really?

this stuff happens all the time...sometimes i hate ebay

ie had this happen to me before, specifically for the lost dogs lp i was getting. i think what happens is they have more then one copy and if they got two people to give two high bids they obviously would rather have someone with a guaranteed high bid purchase the second item rather then putting another auction up

Those 2006 Aussie posters were not screen prints, and as mentioned above, there were a lot of them. So, it's entirely possible that the person has more than one.

Which on is it? I'm trying to trim my collection and I have a few siting in a portfolio (just gave 4 to the Wishlist Foundation giveaway in Oakland)... if it is one of the ones I have, I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping.

and the reason he gave me the second chance offer was... that he just got more of them :? The price is ok,it's like i would buy a poster from a goods section :)

Sadly, I do not have that one.

One other suggestion, check the user's feedback, see how happy past buyers were with posters they received.

I think I've seen someone on ebay from Germany before selling this and a number of different Oz '06 posters as well as Arnhem, Paris and one more from 2006. I think its a bit dodgy because every now and again these posters all come up. Check the feedback history, you should be able to see some of the items sold in the past.

Sorry, I don't have that one, but sounds like you're getting a good deal anyway. I'm sure it will turn out to be authentic, I don't think anyone would bother copying those ones?

Yeah,it is a seller from Germany. He/She had some amount of PJ posters sold in the past, mostly for 10 quid and mostly Australia ones :o 99.6% feedback. I don't really know now :? It is VERY tempting,i love that poster and the price is all right to me anyway (more than 10 quid  ) Oh what to do,what to do :?

I think they are fake BUT if you can get it cheap (like you say they usually £10 from that seller) and its a good quality then get it until you can pick up a real one ;)

    The print seems legit http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/45738

As far as spotting a fake, I bought a bad copy of a 2004 Showbox poster and you can read about that here http://forums.pearljam.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=119933

I got my money back, but as always with eBay, you're taking a chance.
