I haven't thoroughly vetted the guy  but I'd still have to say Panda is our man.

Am I the only one who doesn't get the Ubaldo Jimenez hysteria? He had one dominant half season and gets treated like an ace. With that walk rate he's at best a low end 1, most likely a high end 2 in the AL.

He's the same thing in the NL (the league with better pitching).

But, he would win a lot of games for the Yankees with the way they score runs. They don't need #1's - just decent pitchers.

What I really don't get is why they are thinking of trading him. Doesn't add up.

no way they trade him...not after locking up tulo and gonzales. it would make zero sense.

Craig Calcaterra had a great analogy yesterday.

My dad had a 1985 Corvette once upon a time. He really dug that car. Low mileage. No problems with it. Once in a while, however, mostly out of boredom, he’d put a “For Sale” sign in the window and park it in the supermarket parking lot, seeing if he couldn’t get someone to make him a dumb offer. It was highly unlikely that anyone was that dumb, but hey, if you never try, you’ll never be able to rip anyone off.

Anyway, that’s what I think is happening with Jimenez and the Rockies. They don’t really want to trade him. It makes little sense for them to do so. But hey, if a team is going to give up a crap-ton of talent for him, why not? And how can you find that out unless you dangle him?

I think he is a perfect fit for the Yankees. Strikes a lot of guys out, gets ground balls. Walks too many and his fly balls are a little up this year but he is only 27 and under control at a great price for a couple more years. Like Johnny said, he would be a great 2 for the Yanks with potential to be an ace pitching as a number 2.

Great fit but not good enough of a fit to clear out the farm for. That's saved for Felix.

And we're off. Royals are about to trade Betimet and it sounds like the Braves are about to get a right handed bat.

And the Astros will be asking for the same haul for Wandy as the the Rockies will be for Ubaldo. That's hilarious.

Braves could definitely use a right handed bat and maybe a little more bullpen depth, but I'll be really pissed if they give up Teheran or Delgado...slightly angered if they give up Vizcaino...and now that I say that they probably package all three to get back Jeff Francouer...

MLB is one step closer to taking the Dodgers over from that dirtball. Fucker only wanted that loan because he would make $5mil out of it. Dude's a straight up scum bag.
