I feel like I might be the only one who was lucky enough to be at both solo Chicago shows and enjoyed the first night better than night two! Anyone else agree? Both nights were incredibly good, but I just can't believe how great that first show was!

I loved both, but I liked Chicago 2 just a little bit better because he played some songs I'd never heard before. But they were both awesome. I just love hearing his stories.

The Chicago night 1 solo show in 2008 will always remain my favorite, however.Chicago 2000 : Chicago 2003 : Chicago 2006 : Summerfest 2006 : Lollapalooza 2007 : Chicago 2009 : Noblesville (Indy) 2010 : PJ20 (East Troy) 2011 : Wrigley Field 2013 : Milwaukee (Yield) 2014 : Wrigley Field 20160 -
Chi 2>>>>Chi 1
But, to each their own!

I would usually agree with the op. I am a firm believer in the law of diminishing returns and it usually applies to PJ & Eddie shows. Night 1 is usually better, because you have not seen Ed/PJ in a while and so it is a great experience and the second night is just icing on the cake. This was how I felt at Chicago '09 1 & 2, and Camden '08 1 & 2. I thought it would be the case for EV, because how could you top Immortality & Arc from night one? I just feel the Betterman lullaby and the Slow Lukin, did top the first night, as well as the energy of the second night was much better. So I did enjoy the 2nd night. The one thing I appreciate is 60 songs, 46 unique and only 14 repeats.......so good. There's no need to say goodbye0

I actually enjoyed night 2 more than night 1. I always think Eddie is up for a great show on the night of his final Chicago performance. I thought the crowd's energy was a little better on night 2 as well. And I LOVED what he did with the kids on Hard Sun (night 2).
I dare say that I enjoyed St Louis on Friday more than I enjoyed Chicago night 1. This is not to say I did not enjoy night 1 Chicago, though! I had a fantastically amazing and incredible time that night too!!"Can't buy what I want because it's free..."0
