Will I understand the hockey thing after my visit to Canada? :D:lol::D

You'll completely understand hockey aftyer being in the Mecca and you'll be a Leafs fan before you leave....or we will try and convert you to one anyways :D

Don't listen to him Leanne... unless you want to root for the team with the longest losing streak in hockey.... 44 years and counting! Just think, you could be 43 years old and have never seen your team win Lord Stanley's Mug....

I lived in T.O for 2 years and never got sucked into their crappy hockey realm :P

    Go Habs Go!

If any of you can get me to understand the game, you will be a miracle worker! Cricket is about my limit!

we are pretty friendly with our ennemies... as long as they stay quiet and dont throw things at us!

We were up from Boston visiting Montreal the night of game 5 (Bruins defeat Canadians in OT.) We were SHOCKED at how nice everyone was. Neither Bostonians in the Bronx nor New Yorkers on Yawkey Way would have been treated as nice as we were
we are not a problem with adversity. Ontarians are not as easy as us... during spring break and NHL finals with Toronto or Ottawa, it's always a mess. :/

We are a mess with ourselves, when Montreal Canadians looses finals, we make riot! :o:lol:

The falls are great to see. The area is one massive tourist trap. I always suggest, go see the falls, take some pictures etc. Then go to Niagara on the Lake and some of the wineries there.

Thanks (and helplessdancer) I figured it would be touristy, and I'm not interested in a casino or alike :D
I do like wine though :D

It is very touristy but the falls are something awesome to be seen. I've been there about a half dozen times myself. There are three cool things to do at the falls. You can take "The Maid of the Mist" where you get in a boat and they bring you very close to the base of the falls. Also, I think it's called "The Cave of the Winds" where you go through a series of tunnels and end up behind the falls. There is also an observation deck at the base of the falls on this tour. There is another tour that I did when I was young that involved walking around the base of the falls but I don't remember that name. I SO recommend the falls. The air there is so fresh with all of the negative ions in the air and you can just feel the power of the falls. It makes the world seem so awesome!! If you do any of the tours you can actually feel the water crashing in your chest. Just breath taking.

EDIT: The cave of the winds is the tour I couldn't remember doing as a kid.

for those who may be interested, I MAY have 2 seats in my car from Montreal to To(not 100% sure yet. I'd say sure about 75% at this point)! We're leaving on sept. 11, in the morning! And then probably 2 seats from To to Ottawa, leaving Sept. 14 in the morning.

    PM me if interested!! :)

For gaz price, it'll be around 20$ each if we're 4 in the car!

EDIT: after Ottawa we are heading Hamilton on sept.15 morning, so still 2 seats, and then going back to Montreal, but at this point we're still looking for a pair for Hamilton. :(

I'm traveling from Chicago to Toronto on Sept 11 for nights 1 & 2, then staying in Toronto until I go to Hamilton on the 14th for the show on the 15th. I have pairs of tickets for all 3 shows (10c), possibly a friend going with me for Toronto but that is still up in the air.

anyways, I tried to do the FB thing because I really need help figuring out transportation from the airport to the hotel and then between Toronto and Hamilton hotels and then back to the Toronto airport on the 16th. I can't join the group because its telling me its closed...

Does someone need to invite me or something?
    help? :D

(PS- I might be interested in going to Ottawa as well if someone wanted to maybe share tickets? One of my Hamilton for one of your Ottawa? I have a completely shitty 10c number --fair warning (but I do seem to have good luck! :D)
    Makes much more sense...

    Hiya peeps,
on the fb, just send a request to join and I will approve, they are set up as closed groups by fb. I will look into opening it up later after work.

So far, trains booked are above, in addition subsequently booked -
Trains also booked from Ottawa to Aldershot, ON on 15 September, where you have to change for a bus. Leaving Ottawa at 8:46am, change at Toronto (arrive 13:16 leave 13:43) and arriving into Aldershot, ON at 14:48. We then leave Aldershot, ON at 13:00 on 16 September to return to Toronto Union Station at 13:41... our flights back to the UK are at 20:40.

Greyhound coach tickets from Toronto to Niagara Falls on September 10. 9:15am leaving Toronto, 10:45pm leaving Niagara. Leaves time for a chilled day, and we get to see the illuminated falls. Tickets were $28.55CDN + tax, non refundable, www.greyhound.ca (After some of the comments on here I may be loooking for a vineyard ;) )

Hey all! I just finished applying for passports and were ready to book our flight! My wife and I are very excited for our first trip to Toronto Canada, and to see the band of course! We will be at the September 11th and 12th shows.

I am now looking at places to stay...looks like the Delta Chelsea is on the cheaper end and the One King West on the pricier end.

Does anyone have a preference? Do we know where the band stays? Not that im looking to stalk them, but that would be one cool meeting at the ice cooler!
