Mothers Day and Fathers Day are both inventions of the greeting card industry.

I think they're stupid and mean nothing and I don't wish anyone either and don't acknowledge that they're real.

I get what your saying, but my heart melted this year when I got a recorded card from my 3 year old saying "I love you daddy, Happy Father's day!". I play it every day.

So, manufactured or not, it sure made me feel good that day. Now, she does that a lot of days, but it does make it kinda special. She made sure that I got to pick everything that day, from where we ate to what she wore and what toys she would play with...because she said it was my day.

Oh, and yes I've wished Happy Father's/Mother's day to pregnant couples.
Sometimes we need special days to show appreciation in our busy lives....
it's all about love and taking time to be thoughtful.
I love greeting cards and beautiful words, they are my favorite gift .
I have some of my fondest memories on Mothers Day and Fathers Day,
our own and when I was a kid with my parents.

And yes I would wish a pregnant Mom to be Happy Mothers Day...
she already feels like a Mom! :D

i wished my friend, who's wife is pregnant with their first child a very happy Fathers Day.

    He said thank you.

I wished my wife a happy mothers day when she was pregnant with our first son and gave her a present. She said thank you.

    I do this too.

In my eyes, if a man's wife (or girlfriend) is expecting, he's a dad, because without him there would be no pregnancy. Pregnant women are already moms, because they are growing a person inside of their bodies, even though we can't readily see all the hard work their body is doing. And in the case of an adoption, they are still parents prior to the child arriving, and deserve to be wished a happy Mother/Father's day.

    Why?

Because regardless of how someone becomes a parent, they chose to be one long before they ever held their child in their arms. The love for their child was first born in their hearts.
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!
