Also, to everyone else.....remember people....there is a reason why both bands AND fans list this as one of their favorite venues to play/see a show.
Just relax and enjoy.
Great point! I've been to the Icebowl and the mud crisis of RATM & QOTSA and dozens of other shows here - each one was amazing for its own reasons. I took a girlfriend with me to Alpine for a show last summer, she'd never been there, and now she says that she doesn't want to go to any other venue to see a show! It's going to be a great weekend
ISomeone was asking how they do the other stages. I am going to take a shot at describing how the venue has this set up.
I went to Ozzfest here a couple times. One year they had three stages. The fence that is at the bottom of the venue that runs from the main entrance has gates within it. They put up a temporary fence and open those gates. They then set up the stages out in front of the main entrance but still only accessable from the inside of the venue. Basicly when you are looking at the main stage your back is to the berm that then goes down to the main stage.
The only downfall was that when people were going a but nuts there was some gravel on the ground due to it being pretty much a parking lot for most events there. Whenever someone went down everyone would put their hands out and protect the person until someone could help them up.
Just remember to help your fellow (wo)man and to be safe! It's all about fun!
