Looks ike the green lot is a further walk to the venue, but you may be able to get out quicker.

correct me if i'm wrong, but according to that map anyone with reserved seats will have to go to the lawn area for concessions?

not a complaint, just an observation

There are concessions on both sides of the reserved seating area. The lines do get huge though. I think it's an outdated map as far as the actual venue goes. There are no concessions in the middle of the east and west lawn like the map says. Just small beer stations in the middle of each lawn area. Any other ?'s about the inside of the venue just ask I am very familiar with it.

Neither lot will get you out quicker.

The green lot is only used for excessively sold out shows (will PJ? I don't know). VIP parking gets you closer to the gate, but it doesn't get you in any faster if there's a line on Bowers Road, or out any faster because you're behind all of the other people trying to leave. Also, it's harder to get to the green lot (if it's open) because there is no easy freeway access to that lot (they'll force you into the other entrances) ... remember, it's all two lane country roads.

Both of these are very true. It isn't like going one direction puts you right next to a freeway exit, and the other sends you on a 20 mile country detour. Both lots are going to put you in competition with everyone else. The best advice I can give to anyone is find a willing DD for each night and save some extra beer or whatever your kick of choice is for afterward. You WILL be there for a LONG TIME. VIP parking or not. Like it has been said, limited exits, no magic escape routes.

If it rains and there is a ton of mud in the lot having the vip pass is no help at all. They park all other cars in that area as well. The ONLY way out of Alpine with no issues is to bolt early.

Yes, this is an absolute NIGHTMARE scenario! The first time I went to Alpine was for the Tibetan Freedom Concert in '09 The night before we had heavy rain, and the day off it rained off and on. By the time the show let out the parking lot was mud. Thankfully my buddy had a 4x4 truck, but at the end of literally EVERY ROW someone in a car got stuck. Then the traffic stopped moving until 7 or 8 people pushed them onto the road out again, and we moved 20 - 40 more feet and did it all over again. :( I think the concert ended around midnight, and we didn't get home to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan until 7 AM! Normally that drive takes about 5 hours.

My friend that drove had to work at 9, but it was so worth staying. Rage, then Run DMC, then Beastie Boys to close the show! Most of our group left at like 6 PM because they were tired and had to work the next day. They basically only got to see Eddie, Live, and Blondie. Missed the best parts of the day!
    I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.
