Parking at Alpine Valley
Need to know if it is worth it to buy the VIP parking lot pass when it goes on sale Saturday morning. I am looking to get out as quick as possible after the show (which I've heard is a major challenge). I saw a post recommending the GREEN lot. Does anyone know if the Green lot is easier to get out of after the show than the VIP lot? If so, could someone provide directions to getting to the Green lot, or a link to info about it. Also, is the Green lot free? Thanks!

general parking is included in the price of your ticket. There are 2 main parking lots which are just 2 big fields. Each has one way in and one way out so getting out after the show is a giant clusterfuck. I can remember it taking 1.5 hours to get out of the parking lot before which is why some people just do more tailgating after show. So if your in a big hurry to get out it would probably be worth it to get the vip parking.Summerfest 7/8/95

Looks ike the green lot is a further walk to the venue, but you may be able to get out quicker."McCready played on, lending credence to the theory that he was actually built in Stone’s basement from spare truck parts and vinyl records." - Glide Mag. review of MSG 7/8/030 -

You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."0

Neither lot will get you out quicker.
The green lot is only used for excessively sold out shows (will PJ? I don't know). VIP parking gets you closer to the gate, but it doesn't get you in any faster if there's a line on Bowers Road, or out any faster because you're behind all of the other people trying to leave. Also, it's harder to get to the green lot (if it's open) because there is no easy freeway access to that lot (they'll force you into the other entrances) ... remember, it's all two lane country roads.0 -

If it rains and there is a ton of mud in the lot having the vip pass is no help at all. They park all other cars in that area as well. The ONLY way out of Alpine with no issues is to bolt early."Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -

Yup..best thing about having a room at alpine lodge. You even get your own entrance pretty much."Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -

Are we definitely allowed to enter down at that end? Does it really matter because we have to go up top anyway to get our tickets at will call, right?Member 164xxx

From the lodge you curl around this tree line and it takes you to this pretty much seperate entrance from the general lot. I think I will get my tix earlier in the day and head back to the lodge..but yes will call is up that way."Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -

yea..there also also a bunch of room to grill, toss the beanbags, etc. all around the joint. The rooms on the lower levels are nice since they have patios and a table a believe. Dont remember if the 2nd level rooms have balcony or not. Did you get a room number from them yet?"Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -
