Kat you can ban me if you want but you going to every thread talking about tickets and threatening people just seems like a slap in the face. I know people will jump all over me for saying this but it needs to be said. Like others have said, its simply mind boggling how a website and the people who run it can be so inept. I understand that people are trying their best but it's obvious that their "best" is not enough. Change the system. Bring in people that can actually do their jobs competently. Like other people I took the day off from work to get Canada tickets today (the fact that people have to take the entire day off to try to get tickets should say it all). After the debacle yesterday where you left thousands of people out to dry with nothing but vague hints and then told everyone the store was closed when in fact it was not, you compound that by pushing the Canada dates back because of the impotence of the tenclub. Instead of running around threatening to ban people who have every reason to want to vent, maybe you should do something to actually help the situation. Banning people probably won't do that.

Nowhere do I say getting tickets was a right. However, when I pay my annual dues, I damn well better have the chance to get tickets. That's all any of us are asking for. The chance to buy tickets without server crashes or full on site failures. And when I click the "buy" button I want to be able to actually buy a ticket, not be drop to some "oops, page not found screen."
I don't think we're being unreasonable. At all.Post edited by Stryker on0 -

I agree with you as well. Maybe people have modified their comments after Kat made her reply, but it seems she is threatening people for voicing their opinions about this ordeal. I hope I'm wrong about that.9/22/96, 8/17/98, 8/18/00, 6/22/03, 9/1/05, 9/2/05, 7/16/06, 7/18/060 -

I agree with all of this except I think you mean "incompetence" and not "impotence"

I really dont know what to tell some of you. If you tried for 9 hours, thats your problem. They told you they were trying to complete the transaction for some people, and everyone else should stop.
.
This is the only thing I have a problem with.
Everyone supporting the 10c is saying how they are trying to fix the problems. The only thing is these are not new problems. Its the same ones that we have to deal with every tour.
I have been buying 10c tickets since 05. All east coast shows. Every single presale the same thing happens.0 -

No explanation. Put that on top of everything else that happened yesterday and everything that has been happening every tour for the past 5 years and it's just a bit ridiculous.0 -
I dunno. "Impotence" might be the right word here.Benzor wrote:haha clicked the wrong word in the spell check
im·po·tence
–noun
1.
the condition or quality of being impotent; weakness.
im·po·tent
–adjective
1.
not potent; lacking power or ability.
2.
utterly unable (to do something).
3.
without force or effectiveness.

That being said, if I were a 10C member just for the tickets, I'd have bailed out years ago.0 -

I'm not at all bitter, but do think "disappointed" is accurate.
I was one of the people who actually got tickets yesterday after "only" 3 hours (which I know pales in comparison to the time spent by most other people). The time wasted doesn't really bother me all that much -- it's more the fact that in continues to happen (and this time happened to be the worst).
I've seen people commenting that "they're trying", "they're doing their best", "you're expecting too much", "you should be thankful this even exists for fans", "nobody could anticipate this", and so on. I am happy 10c exists and gives us this opportunity, and I don't doubt the good intentions of the people running it. However, as others have mentioned -- when this continues to happen time and time again, there's a point where you have to either admit you're in over your head technically or don't have or know quite how to implement the best solution.
What's a bit frustrating about this is that I know there are technical solutions that are not bank-breaking (for what it's worth, I don't think the problem is cost -- it's the process they have in place). Suggestions have been made by people on these boards, including myself. This is in addition to ready-made solutions that are already out there to deal with something like this.
I'm not going to profess to be an expert on all things technical, but I do work in a very technical position for one of the largest IT companies in the world. I'm sure there are others on this board who are from a similar background. The "problem" really shouldn't be this big to solve.
If 10c asked, I'm sure they could solicit plenty of free and technically sound advice from members who would be more than happy to help. At the very least, I'd hope they would listen to some of what's already been tossed out in the past.0 -
Really, what are the options for the 10c to go with moving forward?
I guess faster servers, or a better IT company could maybe help the tickets sell out faster, but at the end of the day there are not enough tickets to meet the demand, and people will still be pissed off that they don't get to go to the show.
I understand people are frustrated, I'm going to try for tix tomorrow for Canada while on my lunch break, but if I can't get through, then I will try on Saturday during the public onsale. And if I miss out then it's TS for me, I don't get to go to the show. A previous poster hit the nail on the head, most of us Americans don't deal with disappointment well.
Bottom line, I guess you probably shouldn't renew your membership if it's gotten unbearable for you.
I know the whole thing sucks, but I really don't see a better solution.0
